Vintage Crosley Model 124 “The Playboy” Cathedral Radio that is in good working condition and has been partially restored. Radio receives stations quite readily with an antenna attached and with minimal background noise. The sound is strong and rich. Cosmetically, the radio is in fair condition, with the finish cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax, but the veneer is cracked and buckled along the sides and top. This version of the radio is unique, as the columns are not fluted, but have an applied gold colored accent, one of which has a small chip. It should be further noted that the body of the radio has the model # 20 next to the name “The Playboy”. Overall the defects do not detract from the overall appearance of the radio if it is to be a shelf piece. All of the dials turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. The grill cloth is in excellent condition, with rips or holes. The period replacement cloth power cord is in excellent condition. Great early radio to add to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered. This listing is for the pictured US Apex model 8A cathedral tube radio in non working condition. I bought it for resale in the condition I got it. It was manufactured by the United States Radii and Television Corporation, Marion, IN. The serial number is 805529 and the label indicates it is 95 watts power. The speaker cone is good. All tubes are in place. The wood cabinet is very attractive, with burled wood front, and in good condition; it is mixed woods with a nice metal bezel.. The dial is clearly marked and the knobs are original. There is a missing metal piece, probably an ID piece of trim, that was located just below the speaker fabric (I’ve pictured this area for you). The radio weighs 32# and I estimate the carefully packaged radio will weigh 40-42#. The cabinet is 15 3/4″ wide by 11 1/2″ deep by 17 high. It would make a great project radio or could be placed in a collection as is. Thanks for looking and happy eBaying! PHILCO MODEL 66 CATHEDRAL RADIO 1934. It has a 5 tube chassis (they are all there). I plugged this one in and got a very nice red glow on the tuning dial I didn’t hear any stations until I touched a wire to the antenna connector and then it played strong… That being said if you are looking for a strong player it will need some tweaking. The cabinet is solid and looks good with some minor veneer splits and wear to the outer finish. · the original hexagonal bakelite knobs are very nice. · Original grill cloth has a hole near the top. Near Antique Philco 90 Cathedral Vintage Tube Radio from the 1930′S. Condition is “As is and need of repair to play”. After observation, you can see some nicks and scratches, though it appears to have been somewhat cosmetically refurbished at some point in the past… Does TURN ON and makes a slight static sound. Loose wires likely need to be reinstalled and/or replaced. Great project with completion way mlre than 1/2 way there!! Signtaure will be required! This cathedral Radio is ome of a kind and nearly 100 ayears old!! This is a monster chassis with 9 tubes and 90 watts! It is the most sought after radio of all the Philco Radios. Vintage 1933 RCA Victor Model 110 Cathedral Radio that has been partially restored and is in working condition. Once the tubes warm up, the radio is able to receive stations easily, but best reception is when a longer wire is affixed to the short antenna wire that extends from the rear of the radio. There is some howl – background noise when the radio is initially turned on, but once a wire is added to the antenna, the howl disappears and the volume is very good. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. The RCA dial bezel is missing, as is the emblem that would be above the left side knob. The grill cloth is in good condition, with some minor fraying on the lower right side. The cloth power cord appears to be a period appropriate replacement and is in excellent condition.
