Very desirable, hard to find US Radio Model 305-6 “Gloritone” cathedral radio that has been completely restored. Radio gives an initial squeal when turned on, but receives stations quite readily with no background noise. Reception is strong and volume is also excellent. Unit has been recapped, so it should play for years to come. The exterior of the radio has been refinished and the Birdseye maple really stands out. There are a few minor nicks and scratches from being moved around, but overall the appearance is fantastic. The power cord is in excellent condition – appears to be a replacement and the grill cloth is in great shape, with no rips or tears. There are some screw holes on the rear where someone affixed a cardboard cover to protect the electronics. I will include the cover and screws. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered.

See item condition above. The radio is 17″ H X 12 3/4″ W X 8 3/4 Deep. 1934 Circa Philco radio model 60. The radio could use refinishing. I didn’t feel any holes in the speaker paper. The radio will be stuffed with paper and speaker cone protected with cardboard and the glass tube bubble wrapped. Will pack with care. Radio personal number 829.

It powers on (when Powered On you can see the tubes are working), but for some reason there is no sound coming out. THIS IS ALL I KNOW ABOUT IT, THEREFORE. On the right side on the curved parts are some mild to medium humps and bumps from possible warping and one crack in the wood, didnt feel it form the inside of the radio the warping. Some of the cloth is off of the cord and the cardboard insert of the plug, didn’t see any bare wires though. The front cloth is in great shape. Some wear to the felt circles on the bottom of the radio. Some cracking in the wood on the bottom. The radio got a clear station, one other wanted to come in but think it needs a antenna. At first I plugged it in and waited for 5 minutrs, got alot of screeching then got a clear channel on #40. After I played it for 20 minutes, I went back to the station and it came in every time.

Vintage Philco Model 37-89 Cathedral radio that is a good candidate for restoration. I was not able to receive anything on the shortwave band, but that is not unusual for this area, as the signal is not strong. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax, but it is showing wear on the front and there is a veneer chip on the left front edge that has been patched with wood putty. The power cord is in good condition. The grill cloth is in good condition, with a small tear on the right side. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly, but the bottom center knob is not original. The dial indicator functions properly as well, but the plastic dial indicator is broken and has been taped together. The chassis does have some surface rust, but nothing out of the ordinary. Great looking cathedral radio to add to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered.
