Some damage to the center, a crack on each side and a either a knot in the wood or damage there, see photos. Some damage to the Right side art deco piece at the top side. Cabinet has a couple of paint spots in white that should come off. When I plugged it in the lighted dial came on an I got a clear station, when I tried to go back to it couldn’t get it, then got another station and same thing happened. Tries to get stations, volume wasn’t too high when I got a station. Got some whistles when going to the 300 -400 stations. Be sure to check out all 24 pictures. Flashlight spots show some of the features that are damaged ect.

Vintage 1932 Century 4-78 Cathedral Radio, Refurbished and Working

For your consideration , here’s a nice old Century 4-78 four-tube cathedral radio from, I would guess, somewhere around 1932, which is the year it was designed. I’m fairly sure it will be a quite a while before you’ll see another one due to the scarce information available related to it. Apparently the Century Company in Chicago was a contractor that produced radios for other companies. I replaced two tubes and worked on the cabinet and replaced the grill cloth and the two mismatched non-original knobs with two matched non-original knobs. I couldn’t locate a picture of this model to see what the original grill cloth and knobs looked like. The controls work just as they should. The green dial graphic is original. Please look over the pictures carefully to make sure the condition of the radio is acceptable to you. 15″ H x 12″ W x 9 D. Please don’t mess with the electronics unless you’re experienced working on vintage radios due to the presence of high voltages. Of course, please let me know immediately if you have a problem. I’d like you to enjoy this radio as much as I have.

Vintage Philco Model 60 Superheterodyne Art Deco Cathedral Radio Circa 1934

Vintage Philco Model 60 Superheterodyne Art Deco Cathedral Radio Circa 1934. We are offering for sale this vintage Philco model 60 Superheterodyne art deco cathedral radio that dates from about 1934. It measures 17″ tall x 12 3/4″ wide x 8 3/4 deep and weighs in at a hefty 17.2 pounds. I’m not sure why, but someone long ago refinished the cabinet with a faux woodgrain look. It actually looks quite good. There are some minor chips and nicks in the finish. Everything appears to be original, and the speaker cloth is very nice. The knobs are nice and work as intended and the radio lights up and makes a clicking sound, but I do not get any reception. It is missing the back cover. As an aside, my dad worked at the Philco plant in Sandusky, Oh. For many years as a troubleshooter fixing radios and I had a small Philco transistor radio that worked great. See my other listings.
