Operating Status- Unit powers up and operates properly. The volume button is “sticky”. It requires a little play to engage but does operate properly. The tuner (dial and function) and power knob work with no defects. There is two wires in the back. With some playing around I managed to tune in several stations. Cosmetically it has a professional paint coat but does has a small crack on the crown. In my opinion this will make a great decorative radio that works but might be a challenge to use on a daily basis. 1930 Echophone S-5 Radio. It’s an 8 tube radio. All tubes light up and have life in them. However, the radio signal does not work. The speaker comes on and has a loud hum, I’ve put an RCA cable up to the jack and heard my iPhone through the speaker. So, the speaker is good. I replaced the light for the dial, its new. If I had to guess I’d try to get an antenna and replace some parts under the chassis- after this you should have a working radio. The wood Console & grill has been professionally restored. I had plans to restore this but I’m too busy, it’s halfway done so will make a good project.
