1930′s Cathedral Radio. Video will open in a new window. Serenader in good functioning order. Overall, the condition is unrestored and in very good condition having some scratches and scuffs on the case. The tuner dial and fabric speaker cover is in excellent condition. Two knobs are in place but the on/off knob is missing from the unit. The speaker is in good working order. The power cord was partially replaced. It is a wonderful piece of history and an easy restoration. The radio measures 17″ tall x 15-1/2″ wide x 8-1/2 deep. The volume control knob is very touchy. There is also a tiny hole on the top of the radio. This radio has its original cloth cord, an ornate front, and wood knobs. It measures 11″ x 7.5″ x 14. Even when they’ve been described as fully or partially functioning. We are located at 107 S. Calumet, Chesterton IN 46304. We are open 4 days a week (M-Th 11am to 6pm CST). This one was completely restored with refinished cabinet, new capacitors/resistors in chassis, new cloth dial cord and period plug. It stopped working and now needs repaired to start working again. I plugged the radio in and the radio does power on (the tubes lit up) but I did not hear any hum or static. I have not tested the 4 tubes either. My guess is that it just needs a minor adjustment or perhaps some of the wiring has come loose? Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. The cathedral wood cabinet is nice and solid. There are some minor scratches and imperfections in the finish, like you might expect on a piece from this era. All of the knobs/dials seem to be working as they should be. The interior/chassis looks good and pretty clean. There is a newer AC power cord which leads me to believe that the radio does work.
