This is a really nice example of this set! The wood cabinet is nice and solid and the finish looks very good. There are some imperfections as you might expect on a piece from this era. The grille clothe does have a rip in it. As an aside, Philco produced several sets that had a case that looked like this one. I believe that this set is a 43B but if one of you vintage experts knows differently, please let me know. The radio powers on as it should and I was able to tune in several stations here in central Indiana! It was not hooked up to an external antenna. I do not have the proper equipment to fully test the radio. Please preview all of the pictures as they will best help show the cosmetic condition. Also, please ask any & all questions ahead of time. Vintage Atwater Kent Model 164 Cathedral radio that is in original working condition. Radio pulls in stations quite readily when turned on, but there is a bit of background hum, indicating that it needs to be recapped. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. Original cloth power cord is in excellent condition with no fraying or breaks. The cloth grill is in excellent condition, with no rips, tears or holes. The fret work covering the grill cloth is in overall good condition, but there is a small piece of the top layer of veneer is missing on the upper left side of the center section of the grill. This can easily be repaired by someone who is good with wood work. The rear of radio has been painted red, but the paint is is not on the sides. Radio stands 14 1/4″ tall, 12 1/4″ wide and 8 deep. Great looking radio that will be a fine addition to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered!
