VINTAGE SHURE BROTHERS 5B CARBON RING SPRING SUSPENSION DOUBLE-BUTTON MICROPHONE. One of the earliest forms of voice transmission and a rare piece of early broadcasting history. Weighty element is in very good physical condition with no rust or damage present, and the maker/patent stamps are clearly visible. The element is suspended within the ring using 8 high tension springs. The vintage base is heavy cast iron with no wear nice chrome shaft with no wear or scratches. It has has not been wired as it takes a special 3 conductor cable and DC power supply to operate, but this mic and stand make for an exceptional display piece just as it is. Rubber feat on the base to protect your desktop. The ring is 6 in diameter. The element is 3″ in diameter and 1″ thick. The base is 5 wide.
