Every effort has been made to offer a practically new radio, performing as it did originally, and to be maintenance free for quite some time. The wood cabinet is in exceptional condition without any cracks, delamination of veneers, or patch-job repairs. The cabinet has been refinished in traditional manner using linseed oil varnish to bring out the texture of the veneers and impart a soft shine. The brass dial has been polished and over-lacquered to prevent future tarnishing. Lit-up, the original embossed station dial is just spectacular! This model measures 12″ X 6″ X 8.5high. The electronics inside the chassis are in superb working condition after a thorough overhaul. Yes, the dial string is new as well as the AC power line cord. The new speaker cloth is an understated period reproduction especially chosen not to avert the eye’s attention away from the dramatic dial face or cabinet. This radio uses 5 tubes. All 5 tubes are “new old stock” and the dial light bulb is new and rated at 3000 hours. A very thorough restoration job sums it all up. Check out all the photos. The radio plays just great. Radios from 1937 did not yet utilize loop antennas; they received their station signals from a single wire aerial which I will provide for you to attach to the antenna post on the back of the chassis (see photo). You will notice there are no screw holes in the rear of the cabinet for any back attachment. Following the restoration, all radio circuits were re-tuned to their specification using instrumentation. Thoroughly bench tested, this vintage Philco radio set is ready for it’s new home. This radio is heavy as it is constructed from a thick wood cabinet and heavy old fashioned metal chassis. I will double box using new cartons so that your new radio arrives undamaged in transit. VTG (1939) Arvin 602 Broadcast Tube Radio Receiver with Bakelite Cabinet WORKS

It was part of a LARGE radio collection. The radio works nicely when plugged in and turned on. I was able to tune in several stations here in central Indiana. It was not hooked up to an external antenna. The dark brown Bakelite cabinet looks great and is nice and solid. There is a crack on the right side, at the top, and on the bottom of the radio. The tuning dial works well and the on/off/volume switch functions as it should. I believe that this radio is 100% original maybe not the AC power cord? , other than one of the knobs. As you can see from the pictures, the chassis looks clean but the radio has been in storage for many years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. The item “VTG (1939) Arvin 602 Broadcast Tube Radio Receiver with Bakelite Cabinet WORKS” is in sale since Saturday, August 11, 2018. Vintage Canadian Marconi Standard Broadcast Tube Radio Working

From a local farm estate, comes this CANADIAN MARCONI radio. Case is in fine shape, no chips or cracks. I cant find a model number on it and it looks to be missing a deco trim on the front, but I plugged it in and it works good once it warms up. Shpping price includes proper packing in a proper sized box to make sure it gets to you in one piece! Overseas takes much, much longer than that. The item “VINTAGE CANADIAN MARCONI STANDARD BROADCAST TUBE RADIO WORKING” is in sale since Tuesday, July 28, 2015. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Radio, Phonograph, TV, Phone\Radios\Tube Radios\1930-49″. The seller is “afridgetoofar” and is located in Raymore, Saskatchewan. This radio came from the Cooper TV & Electronics store in Aledo, IL. It was part of his personal collection. Cooper closed his store 25+ years ago. The radio is in really nice shape given it’s age and use. When I plugged it in and turned it on, the backlit dial lit up but I did not hear any sound/static from the speaker. My guess is that one or some of the tubes have gone bad. The interior/chassis looks nice and clean although I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning since it had been in storage for years. I believe that the speaker is the original speaker. The wood cabinet is nice and solid and the original finish looks nice. There are the normal scratches, etc. That you would expect on a piece from this era. All of the dials/switches seem to be working & free. The tuner moves freely up and down the dial. I do not have the proper equipment to test this piece any further. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. The item “VTG (1940) Crosley 24-AU Tombstone Broadcast & Shortwave Tube Radio Receiver” is in sale since Saturday, July 7, 2018. Antique Silvertone radio wood tube R1261 vintage 1940 Broadcast Shortwave Sears

Beautiful 1940 Sears Roebuck Silvertone model R1261 and chassis 100.351. From what I was reading, it has both broadcast and shortwave bands. Looks to be all original but be sure to check out the pictures. Missing the back panel. The outside is pretty clean and still in good shape. Only minor signs of age. A few light wear marks. The grill fabric is in good shape with a few water marks. The tuner has some yellowing which is usual. The unit was plugged in with no sound. Nothing further was tested. It may need a tube replaced. It will not take much at all to get this one sounding great. 18″ wide, 10 1/4″ tall, and 8 1/2 deep. If you need for me to look this information up for you, I can, just let me know. It will be protected well and insured. Let me know if you have questions. This set featured “cone-centric automatic tuning”! The original AC power cord is old & brittle and it will need to be replaced, so I have not tested this radio. I have not tested any of the tubes either. This set looks very nice, as you can see from the many pictures. I love the bullet-style radios from this era! Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. All of the dials appear to be working as they should be. The interior/chassis looks pretty clean. The cabinet is nice and solid and the original finish looks good. There are some blemishes like you might expect on a piece from this era. The radio had been in storage for many years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning. Please be sure to check out my other auctions as I have several really nice 1920s to 1960s radios up for sale!
