Knock- out beautiful vintage Majestic Bakelite radio model 5 LA 7 / 5 LA 8 with custom lacquer paint. Velvet smooth Steel Blue metallic lacquer body with Polo White (cream) lacquer louvers, makes this radio a stand-out in any fine vintage radio collection! A one of a kind art piece. We first started with a perfect bakelite cabinet. No cracks, no chips, no excuses. Then expertly finished with automotive lacquer primer and lacquer painted then polished to perfection. Beautiful original (perfect) reverse painted real glass dial. Original rare faceted crystal clear acrylic matching knobs. Radio powers on but only static. Radio will need repairs to play. One small fine scratch on the top at the right rear- see photos. This is a rare radio and not often found. Please inspect all photos and ask questions.

Vintage 1937 Sparton Deluxe Model 537 Blue Mirror Sled Table Radio – Works. Vintage 1936 Sparton Deluxe Model 557 Blue Mirror Sled Table Radio – Works. Here we have a rare vintage 1936 Sparton Deluxe model 557 midnight blue mirror table radio. This hard to find radio is a stunner. An Art Deco dream radio, it was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague for the Sparks-Worthington Company of Jackson, Michigan. The radio, known as the “sled” is considered to be one of the best examples of Art Deco Streamline style. The radio features cobalt blue mirrors on the front, top and left side, with contrasting ebony lacquer finish and 5 chromed bands or “speed lines”. The mirrors are crack and chip free with some age crazing to the silvering. This blue mirror set is clean inside and out. It has not been restored. I tested it with our Variac, bringing it up slowly so as not to damage anything. It powers on and hums. I didn’t catch any channels and the dial did not light up. It measures 17 1/4″ wide x 8 7/8″ tall x 8 1/2 deep (including the knobs). I notice that there is some wood lifting on the right side between the chrome louvres (see pictures). Should be an easy fix. Believe this is an Astoria? Does not appear to have that brand name on it, but looks exactly like a few others I’ve found online. None this color however. So perhaps it’s pretty rare? A vintage reproduction perhaps? Definitely not modern which is all I can say for sure. Plugged in and nothing happens. That is the extent of testing. No chips or cracks. Some minor scratches and slight discoloration along top and left side. Please view pics for exact condition. Will receive the item displayed.

It is made of plastic and measures 11 1/4 by 7 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. It works good and has a nice sound. It has some random marks on the top and sides. Please contact me if you need more information.

The clock does not appear to work. There is a big chip in the front of the clock and some blemishes. I did take a photo of the back where you can see a light inside when the radio is on.

This is Model 5C12. Radio works and so does clock. We did not check the alarm though. It is in good used vintage working condition with some age and use wear. I believe these are from 1960 and it has a really great blue color to it. This tabletop radio and clock has a nice grill and knob. Knob needs a finer cleaning and has some wear to it. Plastic face on clock has some scratches and scuffs. There are very small areas that could use a deeper cleaning. Radio knob is also very loose. Edges of radio have some light age wear. I see some marks and scuffs but no cracks or chips. Cord has some dirt wear but no cracks and works as it should. Knob in the back to turn clock dial sits slightly askew but turns fine. It would be great to make this minty and maybe add bluetooth etc. It measures about 13″ x a little over 7″ tall. Please see photos for the best description!
