Nice overall condition for its age. Please see pictures and video of radio’s performance. SW has audio hiss, but no stations heard. May be due to the internal antenna. Has a jack on the back for an external antenna. Dial string works and power cord rubber is pliable. Has scratches on the plastic as shown. Tone button is stuck in the down position. No cracks on the case. Nice display piece or a good candidate for restoration. Radio Museum advises of the below specs. Superheterodyne (common); ZF/IF 472 kHz; 2 AF stage(s); Export model. 1948 ARVIN RADIO VINTAGE TUBE RADIO named Rock A Billy. 9 x 5 x 6 Bakelite red radio. This is a seldom seen Deco-style radio that usually comes with brown Bakelite knobs. These rare ivory Colored knobs are original to this set, according to Sams Photofact set 42 folder 3, published in July 1948. It’s Bakelite cabinet is in perfect mint condition and has a deep red finish that retains its original beautiful shine. Its gold foil dial is in good condition and lights up beautifully in the dark. It even comes complete with the original cardboard backing, that has some wear. Ready to be restored. Which operated in Columbus from 1925 to 2011, developed a diverse product portfolio over its history. While its origins were as an automotive supplier, Arvin in 1930 – then known as Noblitt-Sparks Industries – also began producing household products at the onset of the Great Depression.
