See title and pics for description. Very cool vintage radio that works great. Has a few condition issues. Has a large crack on the top of the radio. No other cracks or chips. Missing the glass or plastic that covers the dial. Comes with its original tag. Also has a small external speaker that works and is attached to the radio.

This rare, sought after, radio is in a great condition for its age. It has not been plugged in or tested. Great collectors restoration project. Please look closely at all pictures for condition. Measures 11″high x 9.5″ long x 6.75 wide, weights about 11 pounds. Chassis restoration included replacing all electrolytic and paper capacitors, replacing defective or out of tolerance resistors, repairing or replacing other parts as needed, performing an alignment to achieve peak performance. Cabinet restoration included refinishing and refabricating the swan grill. The grill cloth was replace. The original missing knobs were replaced with wooden knobs similar to the original. The escutcheon is not original, but similar to the original. Dimensions: 15.25″H X 13″W X 8.75D.

Here are some details that I pulled from radiomuseum. Org. Power type and voltage. Dry Batteries / D: 4 x 1.5 Volt. Permanent Magnet Dynamic (PDyn) Loudspeaker (moving coil). Plastics (no bakelite or catalin). Eight Transistor AR-851 [Without CD marks]. Packard Bell Co. Tablemodel, with any shape – general. As used in Gilligan’s Island Television program. This model, without CD marks. Was produced later than the similar model with them. There are no current models that verify the AR851 model number, and this appears to be based on references from the Gilligan’s Island TV show. Very similar to Aiwa AR851.
