We replaced the Dial Light Bulb, 12AT6, 12BE6 and the line cord. The radio turns on with hum throughout the tuning range. The clean chassis will need to be updated to modern caps and aligned. The original speaker is clean without defects. The modern plastic case has no deep gouges or scratches. It’s solid without cracks. Has original back cover and factory label. This is a very clean small mid century radio that will fit on most shelves and would complement any collection. They were available in White and Walnut. Measures: 11″ x 6″ x 5.5. Great looking and sounding Arvin 842T metal midget vintage radio from 1954. Cabinet is in great original condition. Aux cord installed on this set already. Dont let the small stature of this radio fool you; it really lets out some great sound on aux/Bluetooth! All radios for sale by Retro Radio Shop have had a thorough assessment and electronic refurbishing. All out of spec tubes, resistors and capacitors replaced. Each radio will come with a schematic diagram and, if applicable, a work order detailing the restoration work completed. Please feel free to ask any questions. The costs may seem high but we have had great success in getting customers their radios in one piece and working. In addition to the customer service aspect, these old radios are of a finite number and preservation is important. In the unlikely event that the radio arrives broken or not functioning, we will take immediate steps to ensure your satisfaction. Depending on the situation, either us or the insurer will request the item back for further inspection or salvage. If it arrives non functioning, there is likely something that has occurred during transit. All sets are bench tested prior to leaving the shop and are in good working order. In this unlikely event, the following applies. Be prepared to perform a few small troubleshooting techniques that may resolve simple issues. If troubleshooting is unsuccessful, we will request the radio be sent back for assessment and repairs. Vintage classic Arvin bakelite Art Deco tube radio, model 544AR, made by Moblitt-Sparks Ind. This 5 tube radio is mid-forties (1946)and has a nice art deco cabinet, looks like there are 3 tiny repairs to the case (see scans). It works – channels come in very clearly. It is chassis #RE-201B. 117 volts AC-DC, 40 watts, made in USA. A great working radio with style! Also a great way to listen to a football game – love the sound! It measures roughly 9-12/” wide, 6-1/4″ tall and just over 6 deep to the front of the knobs. I replaced the electrolytic caps and then put black electrical tape on them so they don’t arc to the metal case. I replaced the volume control. I replaced on weak tube.
