The cabinet goes through an extensive revitalization process to preserve and retain the craftsmanship of these uniquely designed American cabinets. Using a multi-step sanding process, we carefully remove, by hand, all of the old layers of stain and/or other unnatural elements that have encased the the cabinets, as well as all repairs needed for these masterpieces. Once the cabinet reaches the bare wood stage a custom blend of modern day stains are used to highlight the natural wood grains. The cabinet is then treated with a series of high-gloss clear coat lacquer applications. The action of wet sanding between each clear coat application is applied, along with a final hand-glazing ensuring for a mirror like luster & shine to the cabinet. We strive to bring these cabinets back to life, the way we feel they should have or could have looked. By using modern day stains and toner color options that did not exist in the past enables us to brighten and highlight the wood grains like never before! The result is making these radio cabinets look better than they ever did! We also feel these cabinets deserve a replacement from an audio aspect as well. By adding a modern day Bluetooth stereo speaker breathes new life into these unique cabinets. We do not feel this compromise’s the piece but rather enhances the experience as a whole, both from a visual and audio perspective. Normally inside these beautiful cabinets the grille is being blocked by the speaker mount by approximately 1/3 along with the metal chassis and other components that restrict the cabinetry from producing any type of quality acoustic sound abilities. Our concept consists of removing all of the old components. The vintage cabinets are then lined with the highest grade of black felt, leaving the roof of the cabinet in its natural wood stage.
