This radio, manufactured by Emerson, features a unique mottled brown color and a large tube design typical of classic radios from the 1930s. Crack on top, see photo. There are cuts and cracks in the wire insulation for the plug. So I did not plug it in to test it. Measures approximate 11 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ x 7 1/2 tall.

Good physical condition, powers up, all knobs work accordingly, no hum, couldn’t pull in a station but you can hear frequency changes.. Cord will need to be replaced as insulation has disintegrated. Run in speaker cloth and age spots.

All of the connecting wires for the batteries are present and labeled. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly, and the dial indicator moves properly as well. The grill cloth is in excellent condition with no fraying or holes. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. There are a number of veneer chips along the top back edge, as well as the front right corner and left side. In addition, the veneer is lifting in spots on the top and there are 2 cuts in the body along the left edge. Despite these flaws, the radio presents quite well and will be a fine addition to any collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered.

Stromberg-Carlson was “The Rolls Royce of Radio” for their quality of engineering design and construction. This model is very rare. This is a large radio and sports nine tubes including a push-pull audio amplifier with 10-inch speaker. It needs an antenna. Also, the push buttons are a little funky, and the plate around the channel viewer is cracked as seen in the pictures. 24-1/2″W x 12-3/4″H x 10D. Thank you for looking.
