Every effort has been made to offer a practically new radio, performing as it did originally, and to be maintenance free for quite some time. The bakelite cabinet is in exceptional condition without any cracks and has been hand rubbed to restore it’s original showroom finish. Brass knob inserts have been polished and over-lacquered to prevent future tarnishing. This model measures 12.5″ X 8″ X 8high. A thorough clean job. Check out all the photos. The electronics inside the chassis have been totally overhauled. That includes: new dial string, new power cord into female AC connector attached to the radio back, power supply completely replaced including the large round cylinder you see on top of the chassis which is the expensive power filter capacitor. The power capacitor is brand new and not NOS. Other capacitors, resistors, sundry parts have been replaced using brand new equivalent components. This radio uses 6 tubes. All 6 installed tubes are “New Old Stock”. With this sale comes an extra “complete” set of NOS tubes that work in this radio; including the expensive 12AT7 tube. The line you see in the speaker cone is not a defect as the speaker has been re-coned and exhibits a seam where the cone ends meet. And yes, the radio plays like a charm, especially on FM! I will attach an antenna for FM to the back of the set so you will be good to go. It’s not like there’s a Radio & Television Repair Shop down on Main Street any longer. So, other than tubes which eventually get replaced, this restoration is poised to last. Following the restoration, all radio circuits were re-tuned to their specification using instrumentation.
