The receiver incorporates 8 tubes in its circuit and has four bands with continuous coverage from 540 KHz to 44 MHz. The first band covers from 540 KHz to 1680 KHz, the second band covers from 1.68 MHz to 5.4 MHz, the third band covers from 5.3 MHz to 15.5 MHz, and the fourth band covers from 15.5 MHz all the way up to 44 MHz. The Intermediate Frequency(IF) of this receiver is 455 KHz. The internal front panel mounted speaker is of the permanent magnet moving coil design that measures five inches across and has a voice coil impedance of 3.2 ohms. Received signals exit through a perforated section on the front of the unit. If headphones are to be used, the receiver requires a set with a low impedance. Besides listing the frequencies, the analog frequency display has been calibrated at the top of the dial from 0 to 100 and is used in conjunction with the smaller Bandspread scale which is also calibrated from 0 to 100. This type of calibrated system aids in accurate logging and quick re-tuning of the receiver. This radio uses the standard #47 bulb for the dial lamp and is housed in a sturdy metal cabinet. This radio features “Loudness” (+power) and “Bass/Treble” knobs, both in fully functioning condition. The tuning and band dial works, however the tuning marker does not move along with the channel changing. This radio powers on just fine and I was able to find a couple different stations. In addition to the tuning marker, this radio may be in need of more maintenance. I have not found any further mechanical damage though. The 54 two-pronged power cord is in great shape. This is a model C845M with unit number printed on the bottom reading “666″. It measures 15.5″x9.5″x7.75. Please see all photos for condition. All the switches and knobs are complete and working (headphone jack was not tested). This is a very rare unit in working condition. Measures 19″x11″x10 and weighs 23 pounds. I printed out the operating and service instruction and will include it with the radio. The power cord rubber insulation is starting to deteriorate. VI NTAGE RCA VICTOR GOLDEN THROAT RADIO – MODEL 1X591. Normal signs of age and wear. NO CRACKS AT THE BAKELITE. Gold front mesh a little loose on left side. I have no way to test because it is 115volts… For those who love history, past memories and heritage of the most dominant aviation, motorcycling and motoring themes. It is a Galaxie model 203 made in Poland. It actually had a pretty nice sound. That is pretty much all the testing I did though. It has been sitting for a while and may need a little tune-up. 19 inches wide, 12 inches tall, and 7.5 inches deep. Please check over photos the cabinet has some light scratches but really in good shape for its age. I believe it dates from the mid 50′s Thank you for looking. It is a Galaxie model 203 made in Poland. It actually had a pretty nice sound. That is pretty much all the testing I did though. It has been sitting for a while and may need a little tune-up. 19 inches wide, 12 inches tall, and 7.5 inches deep. Please check over photos the cabinet has some light scratches but really in good shape for its age. I believe it dates from the mid 50′s Thank you for looking.
