This one is in very nice vintage condition and has no cracks in the plastic that I can see. Please look at all pictures for condition and coloring as each one of these radios has individual characteristics and shading and coloring from age- this should clean up nicely if your wish is to restore the Catalin and know how to polish it- or keep its natural patina. The tuner window glass is not chipped or broken. All internals seem intact and as they should be but this radio has not been power tested due to the condition of the cord- it is brittle and has bare wire showing. The tuner cord is intact and works smoothly and moves the pointer across the glass. While the tuner knob turns smoothly- the on/off/volume knob is stiff/stuck and I did not want to force it to turn so. And cleaning will be. Necessary to make this a working unit. The cardboard back has a model # of 562 on it in faded print so this was either a mistake or substitution from the factory due to supply issues after war OR this radio was missing its cardboard back at some point in its life and someone put a model 562 one of it (they are the same shape and size and are interchangeable)- this is of course a model 659 because of the extra shortwave tuner in it. Please note that it is possible that the internal guts may have been replaced at some point with the model 562 radio and there is no shortwave tuner- I do not know or have any experience with the difference so please look closely at all pictures. Either way- the case is in very nice condition and the glass and tuner scale especially is super rare to find.
