Various 1930′s Passenger Car. This radio is in good structural condition with no large dents or major rust damage. The assembly appears complete with the exception of the knobs. There is surface rust present but nothing that has caused any deep pitting or soft spots in the metal, it will clean up nicely with a trip to the sandblast cabinet. The chrome speaker grille has a small dent in the lower right corner and the chrome needs polished or restored. The enclosure measures 8-3/4″ wide, 7-1/4″ tall, and 7-3/4 deep. Do not miss out on this hard to find part for your restoration. Please do your own research to make sure the parts will work for your application. 1930′s VINTAGE EMERSON TOMBSTONE RADIO ANTIQUE OLD BAKELITE RADIO WORKS This hard to find Ivory colored radio was found in an old house I was cleaning out it is in as found condition. All I did to this radio was clean off the accumulated dust and dirt. It has original cord an antenna I plugged it in it warmed up the lights came on and is able to tune into station. As you can see in the pictures it has damage to the front cloth and a hole in the speaker even with the damage speaker it still sounds good. It also has 4 small cracks one in the top of the radio 2 next to the dial and 1 on the front right corner of the speaker opening which are pictured. This is only damage I can find on this radio it is in great shape for this old of a radio. AC Mains Small Table Radio. Belmont Radio Corp, Chicago. Length – 11.5. A particularly attractive, unusual and very well-made model recently recovered from long-term storage. His sales will both assist him in relocating to sheltered accommodation and set his mind at rest concerning the future of his much-loved radios. Ive had no luck in finding any other examples of this one online or discovering the model number – perhaps the collectors out there will be able to assist in identifying and dating it. I have learned that Belmont Catered for the higher end of the market with many lovely designs released including a range of better-known models with ornate Bakelite cases but that few examples can be found on this side of the Atlantic. Cosmetically this radio is worthy of display just as it is having emerged from many decades of storage in very clean condition. The front panel is veneered ply, the rest of the case is solid wood and there are some lovely details – the circular top grille vent, the bright metal dial surround and the dial itself with a globe motif. The back panel is a solid louvred metal part rather than the flimsy fibreboard usually found. Theres plenty of patina and signs of age and wear but perhaps it would be a shame to restore it cosmetically – the original finish still has a glossy shine and it looks very pretty sitting on a shelf or table. As you can see, a 2-pin Bakelite plug is fitted. There is one missing valve so its definitely not in working condition as-is but the chassis is clean and complete otherwise and it certainly looks as if this radio could be brought back to life by a knowledgeable hand. I hope this interesting old machine will be considered worthy of a place in another nice collection or as a charming display piece. Vintage Philco Model 20 Cathedral Radio 1930′s. The radio needs an antenna. The channel comes in low until you put your finger on the metal clip for the antenna. No humming or popping when going threw the dial. This may have been restored recently. Though I didn’t go in and check caps or have done any restoration. My need to be check out and serviced by a professional or. That knows more about this model of radio. Looks Great giving its age. Please see pictures 4 & 7. They will be marked to indicate where they go. The one vacuum tube (one of the 71a’s) has a piece of glass rattling around inside the tube. It is a piece of insulator that chipped off inside and does not affect the tubes function. Also, It’s missing the back panel. Not sure if these radios came with one. The plug appears to be original.
