History of the Learadio – Learradio 561 by Lear Co. Owner William Powell Lear, known for inventing the automobile radio but who is also known for founding The Lear Jet Corp. And has over 120 other patents registered. This great looking high quality radio with its nice looking Bakelite case This model 561 chassis is the same as the 562 & the 563. It comes with a built-in wire-wound antenna for excellent reception. 10-1/2″W x 8″H x 7D. This is a 1945 Learadio model 561. Radio I believe to be original except for the cord as it has been replaced. I know absolutely nothing about radios. This radio was acquired from an estate of a collector that had many of tube radios. Radio turns on and does pull in stations. Has few very small spots where paint is missing shown in pictures commonly found on a vintage items this old, but you decide as I tried to show in pictures….

Stromberg-Carlson was “The Rolls Royce of Radio” for their quality of engineering design and construction. This model is very rare. This is a large radio and sports nine tubes including a push-pull audio amplifier with 10-inch speaker. It needs an antenna. Also, the push buttons are a little funky, and the plate around the channel viewer is cracked as seen in the pictures. 24-1/2″W x 12-3/4″H x 10D. Thank you for looking.

I will be listing a broad and diverse range of Vintage Communications and Technology items, related Books, Periodicals and Ephemera… Here is an early, excellent Grebe CR-2 Tuner. Finding such an item today is very difficult! This set is in really nice condition. The panel is clean with no defects, binding posts are correct and controls function as they should. Several of the front panel screws are later replacements.. Internally, this Grebe CR-2 is just excellent! It even smells right! The pictures present the true condition of the tuner.. The cabinet is a masterful reproduction. Incredible effort is indicated here with regard to wood species, construction, fit and form. If you are searching for a Grebe CR-2 to put on your shelves, this should serve you well! The tuner is about 17″ wide at its base, about 8.5″ deep including knobs and 7.125 tall.
