Silvertone Election vintage Bakelite tube radio

This Silvertone Election tube radio is in working condition with decent sound quality. The electronics are unrestored and old, so please keep that in mind. The electrolytics have been replaced but that was a long time ago. The power cord is a modern replacement. The black bakelite case has no cracks, chips, or damage. The grill cloth on the front of the radio is original and it shows it’s age. The rear grill cloth is missing. Silvertone 6230 vintage tube tuning eye radio

Silvertone 6230 tube radio with tuning eye. His desirable Silvertone does power on and it receives stations. The sound quality is decent but it could definitely benefit from being electronically serviced as the electronics are old and there is a background hum. The electronics do appear to be original. The tuning eye does work, opening and closing as stations are being tuned in but it is very dim. The original finish does show some wear and blemishes, mostly on the top surface of the radio. This wear to the finish is just honest patina and it is not too disappointing. The cabinet is structurally sound with no damage. This really is a beautifully styled radio that is similar to the Ingraham designed models from Emerson. This Silvertone may be far from being in collector quality condition, but it is a working survivor that does display well. If you have any questions or need additional pictures, please ask. Silvertone 9001 Vintage Radio White Sears Roebuck & Co 1949 Working Perfectly. Was completely refurbished as follows. The Chassis has been cleaned. The tuner has been cleaned. All electrolytic and paper capacitors have been replaced. Any resistor or capacitor detected as out of spec has been replaced. The radio has been compared to the schematic and modifications were done if necessary. Adjustments have been made to optimize the sound. The power cord was replaced. Vacuum tubes replaced as needed. The speaker cone was re-glued in several places. Modern plastics (no Bakelite or Catalin). This is a smaller radio. 8.625 x 6 x 5.75 inch. Please note that the color in pictures might differ slightly due to lighting, flash and screen resolution. I sell all kinds of things, some for their usefulness, some for just plain being cool! . I check over my items thoroughly and TRY and list any imperfections. But, it might happen that I miss something; so please view all of the pictures provided along with the written description just in case. The original AC power cord became brittle and broke off so the radio will need a new power cord. He wood cabinet is nice and solid and the finish looks really nice. There are some minor imperfections like you might expect on a piece from this era. All of the various dials and switches seem to be working as they should be. As you can see from the pictures, the chassis looks clean but the radio has been in storage for many years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning. Again, I do not have the proper equipment to test this radio any further. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. The pictures were taken later in the day so the flash kicked in! Just a FYI on why some of the pics look a little more shiny. VTG (1936) Silvertone 4565 Sears GOLDEN JUBILEE BC & SW Tube Radio with Magic Eye

This is a beautiful radio part of the Sears Golden Jubilee series of radios. The radio did power on when I plugged it in and turned it on. I was able to hear a hum. The backlit dial works as it should and it looks great! The radio has the largest and most impressive gold dial of the Golden Jubilee collection it’s 6 in diameter! The “magic eye” tuning tube also powered on and the green light looks awesome against the gold backdrop. The wood cabinet is nice and solid and the finish looks spectacular. All of the original labeled knobs are present. The tuning knob slips some when you try to tune the dial so I think that function could use a little TLC. All of the other dials seem to be working as they should be. As you can see from the pictures, the chassis looks clean but the radio has been in storage for many years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. This set would look very nice in any vintage themed room or in your collection! This speaker is in REALLY nice shape given it’s age and use. It has a near-perfect Bakelite bell! The metal base still retains it’s original finish and the speaker cord is original as well. It stand approximately 21 1/2″ tall with a 13″ cone. The driver tests good! The speaker breaks down conveniently, into 3 sections, for easy storage or transport. INCREADIBLY BEAUTIFUL SILVERTONE RADIO MODEL 4660 IN THE ART DECO FORM FROM 1937. THE CONDITION OF THE CABINET IS WONDERFULL! IF YOU VALUE ORIGINAL FINISH CABINETS, THAN THIS ONE IS FOR YOU. OF COURSE THERE ARE A FEW MINOR BLEMISHES HERE AND THERE, HOW COULD THERE NOT BE , THIS SILVERTONE IS OVER 80 YEARS OLD. NOTHING AT ALL REALLY TO MENTION THOUGH. THE GRILL CLOTH IS ORIGINAL WITH NO DAMAGE. THE ELECTRONICS HAVE BEEN RESTORED AND THE RADIO PLAYS VERY WELL WITH LOUD, CRISP, CLEAR SOUND QUALITY. THIS SILVERTONE HAS ONE OF THE BEST DIALS IN RADIO, LIGHTING BRIGHTLY WITH TWO BULBS. WHERE IN THE WORLD IS JAVA? ! THE ONLY FAULT THAT I SHOULD MENTION TO YOU IS THAT ALTHOUGH THE TUNING EYE IS BRIGHT, IT DOES NOT OPEN AND SHUT AS PROMINENTLY AS SOME OTHER TUNING EYES THAT I HAVE SEEN. THE TUNING EYE DOES WORK, JUST NOT AS WELL AS IT SHOULD. THIS SILVERTONE IS HIGHLY DEMANDED BY COLLECTORS AND NICE ONES LIKE THIS DO NOT COME UP FOR SALE OFTEN, SO DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE.
