This radio was from a period in time where Panasonic was first trying to break into the American high-tech consumer market, and they needed to be bold! It’s a larger tabletop radio, measuring 16″w x 9.5″h x 8.5d, with a striking design that looks great atop a desk or credenza of that era. Solid wood with chrome accents. Colors include black, brown and silver. Huge speaker grille for a huge speaker. State of the art, for 1967, control panel. Best of all a drum-shaped tuner that is invisible when dark and stunning when lit up. Best of all, this radio sounds and performs every bit as good as it looks! Deep base, clear treble, loud volume and extremely sensitive on both bands. The built-in antenna works great but there is also a hookup for an external one, if you like. There are also aux inputs for phonograph and tape player. The wood cabinet is nice and solid and the original finish looks really good. There are a few imperfections like you might expect on a piece from this era. There is also a piece of wood missing at the bottom of the right side of the radio. Please preview all of the pictures as they will best help show the cosmetic condition. Please also ask any & all questions ahead of time. This radio is a. Wonderful performer and a very stylish piece of 1960′s design. If you’re looking for a period radio of this type that looks and sounds great this is the one!
