Very clean inside and out with microphone however it does not power up. I pulled it out of the case for inspection and the fuse looks good. The power supply cord fits but it was from another Lafayette transceiver. I notice there are 11 pins coming out the back and only 9 wired connections inside the plug. Two of the holes are empty. Very possible its the wrong power supply and not wired for this particular model. Might be an easy fix if you work on these. Perfect for parts or restoration. Here’s a very unusual Emerson 1940-41 table radio with a decal floral design on the front and top. I can’t find another one like this listed anywhere, but the radio itself appears to be an EC 366 or similar model from what I see on line. The original chassis was a basket case so I replaced it with an identical good one I had in another Emerson radio from the same year. Since Emerson was famous for their theme, or “artsy-craftsy” radios during that time period, I’m guessing this is one of their originals, but since I can’t find another one any place, I can’t be sure that someone, other than an Emerson employee, many years ago, customized it. The art work sure looks like it’s been there a long time, with some deterioration in the bird figure on top. The cabinet is original finish showing some wear, and the chassis, from anther radio, has been mostly recapped and is working. ALL NOS tubes were installed. I was so excited to come across this. First one, out of all my years of antiquing and going to estate auctions that I’ve ever come across. It looks to be in all original, used, vintage/antique condition showing use, wear, surface wear, discolorations, scratches, color wear, age related wear etc. Hopefully the photos will speak for the description and condition. Radio Corporation of America. In small fine print on the corner of the label 46015-1. I was told it is a hotel/motel radio. I’m not sure if this one was attached to a motel/hotel wall or more permanent surface and maybe the back taken off? And there’s no way for me to test. But I would assume it needs restoration or some kind of repairs. The outer case is some type of metal or mixed metal material. I love the character and history of it. It still has what looks to be the original piece on top that says 25 cents for 2 full hours and the original coin slot. Please refer to photos of this. Pictures taken of all sides/angles, including top, bottom, close-ups etc. It measures approximately 16 1/2 inches across. Approximately 9 1/2 inches tall. Front to back, approximately 10 inches excluding the knobs that come out more on the front. The scale shows it weighing 16 pounds. Again, thanks for your interest and looking. This is one of those items that I don’t know if I will ever come across again. The original labels still look to be there. And even though discolored and worn from age, most of the information is still readable. The photos should show all this. Thanks again for your interest and looking.
