The radio, according to research, is one of only 6 made for the “Leading Jewelers of America” as shown on the label on the back of the radio. Measures 10 3/4″ wide, 5 3/4″ tall and 5 deep. Shows some wear on the outer surface from age and use, particularly a light surface scratch on the top of the case. No cracks or major damage to the outer case. The clock functions just fine. When the radio is turned on, there is a loud hum on the speaker. All of the tubes in the back light up after a few seconds. The cord is intact but is getting stiff. No frays or damage. The knobs are all in good condition with some minor wear. The brass pieces could use a good polishing. See photos for more details. As I understand it, this radio was produced with both a wooden cabinet, like this one, and a Bakelite cabinet. There are not many wood examples of this radio. It has the original finish and would be a great candidate for a full restoration. I believe that these are the original knobs but they slip when turning so some adjustment is probably warranted. The radio powers on as it should but I was unable to tune in any stations. I was only able to hear a hum & some static. It was not hooked up to an external antenna.
