For your consideration is this gorgeous looking 1950 Crosley “Coronado” or also called the “dash board” radio. The radio works very well picking up broadcast stations across the tuning dial. But remember that this radio has a directional built-in antenna, so the radio should be turned for best reception. There is no hum and audio plenty and pleasing to the ear. Adding an external length of antenna will enhance the reception range. The cabinet finish is the factory original and is in great condition. There are some scratches on the top but does not distract from the appearance of this radio. Chromed ring escutcheon, knobs and dial pointer were polished. The chromed dial ring, has some minor pitting, but the pointer came out great and the chrome on the knobs are close to perfect, only very minor pitting. The white ring on the knobs is original and was not painted. Both sides show some wear. The metal circular mesh behind the dial pointer is perfect with the original gold like factory finish. The old paper tri-filter was replaced with new electrolytics. That were mounted to a terminal strip. All the old wax paper caps were replaced with high quality “orange drop” capacitors. All resisitors were tested and any creating a problem were replaced. All tubes were tested on a TV-7. And all test “good”. The speaker is in great condition with no cracks, cuts or holes. The original white power cord was inspected and then cleaned and remains. The in-line vernier on the variable tuning capacitor was cleaned of old grease and re-lubricated. The circuit used in this radio is the standard AA5. However, in SAM’s the tube layout is 12BE6, 12BA6, 12AV6, 50C5 and 35W4. The factory replaced the miniature tube 12AV6 with the octal 12SQ7. If you collect Crosley’s and don’t have this radio in your collection then don’t pass this one by. If you have one and want to upgrade you won’t find one this nice. Or, if you just like the looks of it… The radio is exceptionally nice and with it’s shiny chromed dials will be the center of attraction on your shelf. The dimensions of this beautiful Crosley 10-135 is approximately 13″ wide, 7″ high and 7 deep. This sale is for the USA and Canada only! Thank you for looking. The model number is T600 chassis number is 6T40Z & it was produced around the 1955 era. The black cabinet is clean inside & out & in good condition but there are some light scuffs & general wear do to age & usage. All in all this radio looks good for it’s age. I have taken many pictures so you may get a good view at this nice looking & working radio. The front panel/lid opens & closes nicely & the brass latch works well. The multiband dial scale & dial pointer are in fantastic condition & works well. The zenith dial-a-mat chart log is in excellent condition. The black handle on top is in fantastic condition. The wave magnet antenna on top is in fantastic condition. The large telescopic antenna is in great working condition. The chassis is in great condition & uses 6-tubes including the ballas tube. The chassis has been serviced by a professional radio tech who replaced the 50A1 ballas tube with a new tube, installed all new electrolytic capacitor filters & also replaced several capacitors. The electric cord is in good condition that can be safely plugged in. This radio has been restored to great working condition. This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology “unlike modern day solid state radios” can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV’S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires/lines above your home, etc… So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are directional meaning you “may” have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. The approximate size of this fabulous gem is 17-1/4″ long 7-3/4″ wide & 11-1/2 high. I package very well for a safe arrival. RETURN IF NOT AS ADVERTISED. These are hard to find as they were small and inexpensive and most were just tossed in the trash when they quit working or were replaced by a more sophisticated set. The “Pup” uses A regenerative circuit that works quite well. Battery requirements (when using the correct tube – WD or WX-12) is 1.5 V “A” supply & 22.5 V “B”, It will also work well with a UV or UX-201A. This one is a nice looking Crosley Pup. Has a small ding on one side, but other than that, looks good. You can see the ding in the second picture — minor but I wanted to point it out. Appears to have original paint, with a few minor chips missing here/there. Take a look at photos and decide for yourself. All knobs turn/function as they should. Label on bottom (often missing) is in place and quite readable. Has the labels on the various power wires. Please note: no tube(s) are included in this sale. Bought from a local dealer and was told that it worked. He seemed reputable but since I don’t have the power supply to check it out, no guarantees are made about if it works or not. That said, I checked the grid leak resistor — it’s fine. Checked the wire wound filament rheostat — it’s fine. Made sure the mica “sheet” was present — it is. Very cool 1950′s classroom teaching aid for tube radio instruction. It shows a radio that has been layed out breadboard style and how the components work. It was made so that it can actually be turned on and tune in different radio stations. This was found in a closet of a public school that was being torn down. It was covered with a ton of dust so obviously had not been used in years, probably decades. It is in nice cosmetic condition. It will probably need some attention to get it going again. It has the Welch Scientific label on it. It is similar in design to the RCA demonstrators. It measures 31″ wide X 21″ high X 5.5 deep. This would be a neat item to get running and hang on the wall with your radio collection.
