FADA Bullet catalin tube radio vintage fada

This Fada Bullet radio will make a wonderful Autumn treat! The yellow / pumpkin orange catalin case is in very nice lightly hand polished condition, not sanded. There are no cracks, chips, stress lines, or any other kind of damage to the catalin case. This model is the very hard to find deleted grill version. This is the way it came from the factory, it is not missing the grill insert. Most catalin radios that came from their factories with deleted grills have the appearance of missing something. Somehow the styling of the Fada Bullet with the deleted grill just works. This radio is untested and the power cord has been removed. The chassis is clean and appears to be in original condition. Overall this radio should prove to be an easy restoration. Autumn is here and I can’t think of a better radio {well maybe one or two} to welcome it with than this Fada Bullet catalin! Lovely onyx green cabinet that has been hand polished, this example also plays having been electronically restored. The radio is free of cracks, chips, nicks, dings, and deep scratches. Has its factory original scalloped swirled white drop handle, the cauliflower knobs are perfect replacements. The “flocked” grill screen is original and the dial is excellent along with the the airplane style pointer. The radio has its factory fiberboard back panel also. Offered is a catalin bakelite vintage vacuum tube radio made circa 1945 by Fada of New York. It is a model #652 “Temple” and is electronically restored and plays well. The yellow catalin cabinet is beautifully marbleized and the radio has factory original cherry red catalin trim (racetrack bezel & fluted knobs). The radio retains its factory back panel. The radio has no cracks, chips, nicks, dings, scratches, or tube burns. It is free of damage. The glass art deco dial scale is a perfect replacement. Fada catalin bullet vintage tube radio

You didn’t get what you wanted for Halloween and the big game just sucked, well, I have some real wonderful eye candy for you. This pumpkin orange Fada bullet is just what you need to lift your spirits! This Fada bullet is one of the all time greats, it’s the most desirable American radio of all time. I know it’s solid yellow, the most common one available, but just gaze upon it, this one is beautiful. Check the way the Autumn sunlight illuminates the catalin, it’s wonderful! The cabinet is in perfect original condition retaining it’s natural pumpkin orange patina that can only be achieved by the passing of time. Check the bottom of the cabinet and under the handle and you will see the much lighter yellow color of the catalin that was not exposed to UV light that caused the darkening of the catalin. The cabinet has never been sanded or buffed with abrasive polish like so many others have been, only gently hand cleaned with spray cleaner polish. There are no cracks, chips, or hairlines to the cabinet, it is in perfect condition. The original clear plastic dial cover has become yellowed and warped, it is included but is not installed or shown in the pictures. The chassis is very clean and for the most part it’s electronics are all original. I installed a good condition vintage power cord for safety. The radio does plays well with very good sound quality and volume but please keep in mind that the electronics are old and original and they should be updated if you want to use this radio regularly. Up for sale is this rare Fada wooden radio. It’s in decent cosmetic condition with surface wear, and a few other minor damages – there is some wood damage on the front, and the plastic is cracked at the top. The radio powers on, but I couldn’t get any stations, just a deep loud humming noise. Also, the power/volume switch falls off easily. This radio has been refurbished with some tubes and caps and does work. Knobs are not original to the radio but functional. This radio displays very well but has some imperfection as expected that are shown in the pictures. Specifically there is damage to the dial scale. Small hole and a deep scratch. The handle was shown in the up position to let you see that it has damage that has been somewhat repaired. It is not visible when sitting on a shelf. Still a very pretty radio but wanted to clarify issues that were shown in the pictures. I want everyone to be happy!
