DISPLAY, PLAY, AND ENJOY!! This vintage black dial 1937 Zenith is an excellent radio. It is unusual and popular because of its compact design, and is seldom seen for sale. Each band has two tone settings, accomplished with the band switch. Dial lights up brightly. Chassis and speaker are very clean. Electronic restoration was performed, replacing capacitors, out of tolerance resistors, band alignment, and bad or marginal tubes. The finish was expertly restored using toned and clear lacquer. It works very well with just a short wire antenna (included). Factory original knobs, this radio gleams!! Auxiliary input cable was added so you can plug in an iPod, CD player, etc. And play audio through the radio. 15-1/2″H x 10″W x 9-1/2D. Offered is a very sharp mid century art deco Arvin radio model #524 made circa 1941. Radio features a shiny chrome cabinet with original foil dial and airplane pointer, original burgundy plaskon bakelite knobs, and it plays well having been electronically restored. The metal cabinet is almost perfect, with minimal wear or dings. It has an original dial cover, and has been electronically restored to play loud and clear. This Philco tabletop radio is in a nice Art Deco streamline style cabinet. It is a model #38-9 made circa 1939. Electronically tested, it receives well after warming up, having been restored at some time in the past and it may need an outside antenna and a good earth ground for anything other than nearby stations. The knobs are all original. The power cord is a replacement, as is the grille cloth. The pin-striping is good. Radio measures approximately 17″W x 11″H x 9D. The Radio Corporation of America made many mid-century radios, this pre-war beauty features a nicely marbleized brown bakelite cabinet with molded raised lines in the streamlined style. The foil dial face is super clean with original dial pointer. This example has the seldom seen dial face with the RCA dog “His Master’s Voice” logo. See this link for this more info on this famous logo. This is a model #45-X-11 made circa 1940 just before World War II. Cabinet is in excellent condition with a nice louvered front and classic “D” dial. Power cord, weak tubes and capacitors have been replaced. Radio measures approximately10″W x 7″H x 7D. A very nice example of this pre-War RCA radio. The case does not have any cosmetic issues like cracks, chips or hairline cracks, only a few light scratches. The radio is playing fine, with no annoying filter hum. This Truetone radio model # D-2610 is in very good condition & it plays loud & clear bringing in many stations. There are no chips, cracks, scratches, gouges to the beautiful bakelite cabinet that has a highly marbled color of rich brown. Some of the contractors included Admiral, Belmont, Detrola, Air-King, Stewart-Warner and many more. Power cord is new AND this radio has the auxiliary jack installed that allows you to play music from any iPod, smartphone, etc. If you attach a bluetooth receiver (not included), you can stream any content including Spotify, IHeart, Pandora, Sirius XM, and many FM stations. A must have in any collection, this Truetone is in pristine condition, near mint. The case has no cosmetic issues or repairs and also has a beautiful large colorful dial and undamaged dial cover. The brown Bakelite case still exhibits a new “in the store, on the shelf” shine. The “Truetone” name is illuminated when the radio is on. 1937 Zenith vintage tombstone wood mantle table model #5S127. It has 2 SW bands and was able to receive a few stations late at night including stations across the dial. This Zenith is stunningly beautiful but they are becoming less and less common, and they are uncommon at this level of restoration the quality of the restoration is amazing. The 5S127 is highly collectible and sought after for its famous large reflective black multi-colored dial, for the Lightning Bolt “Z” pointer, the factory original wooden Z etched knobs, the intricate wood latticed grill, and the carved art deco design cues which make this BIG Tombstone stand out and command your attention. At 19 inches tall and 14 inches wide it has quite a presence. Theres no doubt this radio broadcast such notable 1937 historical events as the horrific Hindenburg disaster, the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, and the growing winds of war overseas with Japans attack on China and non aggression pact with the Nazis! It was certainly the centerpiece and focal point of an American Familys home in the late 1930s and 1940s. This is a superb example of the American Art Deco era for the late 1930s. This seldom seen tube radio model 5S127. It is one of the most distinctive looking radios produced by Zenith. Please note the bookmatched veneers on the top that waterfall onto the front of the cabinet. The designer created a very elegant wood cabinet, with heavy ribbed and rounded edges. This most distinctive design resulted in Zenith famous line up for 1937. This radio has been electronically restored and picks up many stations across the dial. The radio has very nice reception with no hum. After warming up, this 82 year old radio produces excellent volume and good sound from the front mounted speaker. A new power cord was installed for safety. The radio has the original Zenith wood knobs. The walnut veneered cabinet is beautifully restored with a flawless lacquer finish and trimmed tones. The grille cloth is a reproduction of the original pattern. Every detail was reproduced to keep the original look.
