EICO ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT COMPANY BROOKLYN NEW YORK (NY) MODEL 625 TUBE TESTER WORKS! EICO was established in New York City in 1945 to manufacture electronic test equipment in kit form. A wide variety of test equipment remained the company’s mainstay during the time it was in the electronics business, however EICO often augmented their product lines with what was thought fashionable. For example, in the late 40s it offered Geiger counters in response to public interest in uranium prospecting. In the 50s and 60s they offered amateur radio and electronic test equipment. Their largest secondary market was audio equipment. Eico produced hi-fi products in the early 50s to the mid 60s with a line of tuners, preamplifiers, and amplifiers, available both in kit form or fully assembled. The model Eico HF-81 integrated tube amplifier is just one of several highly-regarded products manufactured by EICO during this period. EICO is also known for “monoblock” amplifiers such as the HF-50 and HF-35, stereo integrated amplifiers such as the ST-40 and ST-70, as well as many other amplifiers and preamplifiers. EICO left the audio market in the late 1970s and the electronics market some time later. EICO existed as a property management company until 1999, when the company was liquidated at the request of the shareholders. DO NOT BE TOO PERSNICKETY. Vintage 1920′s Dictogrand Radio Horn Loud Speaker Model R-4 Works New York Up for your consideration is this Vintage Dictogrand Radio Horn Loud Speaker, Model R-4. Made by Dictograph Products Company, New York. This wonderful old speaker is in working condition. I hooked up the frayed wires to my tuner and it worked no problems. In great condition with only some cosmetic wear to the black paint. I see no dings, dents, deep scratches, or breaks to the speaker. Horn measures 10 1/2 in diameter. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have! Please take a look at all photos. I take pictures of all visible flaws as best I can and note them under the condition section. We are a father son picking team from Rhode Island. We get all our items from clean outs, garage sales, estate sales, and storage units. Thus, most of our items are in vintage or antique condition, which means they may be dusty, need cleaning, or have some flaws. We do gently clean our items but avoid using any chemicals as not to damage the items. Any defects will be photographed and documented. Nice Rare Tube Hybrid Drake SW-4A Shortwave Radio Receiver. Thanks for looking at my auctions this week. 4 If you live close by or won multiple items, don’t pay immediately. This unit was made in Miamisburg Ohio, a couple hours from me. It has the Radio New York International logo on it. This unit has not been powered on in a decade. It appears to be in pretty nice unmolested original complete condition. I would suggest bringing it up on a variac. From the Internet: The Drake SW4A blends tube and solid-state technology to provide an easy-to-use high performance shortwave broadcast receiver. This radio has an S-meter and 1/4 inch headphone jack. The dial accuracy is ± 3 kHz. 10.75 x 5.5 x 12.25 inches 16 Lbs. Look at the large photographs. The face is very nice. The arc of light in the one dial photo is not wear, just sunlight reflection. There are some scratches on the top. In the rear photos you can see that I cleaned a bit of dust away, so you can see that the chassis will clean up pretty easily. There doesn’t appear to be any rust or anything bad like that.
