Vintage 1920′s possible Browning Drake Kit 4 tube radio that is in good shape for its age. Radio has 4 01A type tubes (1 Radiotron UV-201A short pin with a pip top, and 3 RCA Radiotron UX-201A), all of which tested good on my Eico Model 625 tube tester. The radio has two Velvet Vernier dials that turn smoothly and properly. The two large coils are labeled National Browning-Drake and are in good condition as well. There is an original Ray-O-Vac 4 1/2 bolt C battery inside the radio that would be for display only. The brace that keeps the top open is missing a grommet/screw and does not hold up the top as a result. The radio measures 25 5/8″ long, 11″ deep and nearly 9 tall. There is a split in the top and some minor warping and the base is also showing similar issues. The finidh on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. Unfortunately, I do not have the ability to test the radio, but 4 functioning 01A tubes should be a good start on this early battery operated radio.
