This is a very nice vintage transceiver. From what we can tell, it’s all original with no modifications. Cosmetically, it looks good with little wear. The cabinet has a few scuffs here and there, but the faceplate looks terrific. The leather carrying handle is in great shape, and the digital display is bright. All in all, it looks great. It operates just as nicely, as it receives beautifully and transmits full power on all bands. The sale also includes a compatible microphone, non-Kenwood. Please realize that this is a vintage piece of equipment, and unless specifically noted above, it has not been fully restored with new components. It will inevitably need maintenance, however it’s impossible to know whether that will be next week or a few years down the road. Kenwood TS-830S Vintage Tube Hybrid Vintage Ham Radio Transceiver SN 4030196. This is a nice rig. It has been well cared for by it’s previous owner, as I hope is evident in the photos. There are only a few light scuffs on the cabinet, and the faceplate looks great. The display isn’t as bright as we’ve seen on other radios, but I certainly wouldn’t call it “dim”. Operationally, this one is ready to go! We tested it out and found everything to be working as you would expect. Please note that no microphone is included, so you will need to supply your own.
