The Wood cabinet on this Beauty has it’s Original Finish & looks Good (Not perfect by any means) as there are some scratches & nicks etc.. FOR A RADIO THAT IS 88YRS OLD & IN IT’S ORIGINAL FINISH IT LOOKS PRETTY DARN GOOD:>. This radio has been cleaned & polished which still retains it’s original sheen or shine for the most part. I have taken Many Pictures so you may get a good view at this Nice looking Radio. The 3 Marbled ROSETTE Bakelite. Control knobs are original & in fantastic looking condition. The Speaker Grill cloth is a in nice condition. THE ANTENNA SYSTEM CONSIST OF A LONG. WIRE THAT MUST BE STRETCHED OUT IN (1) ONE DIRECTION OR ANOTHER UP/DOWN/RIGHT/LEFT? The chassis is in Great condition & it is a 5-tube unit with 3-controls that are in good working condition. The 3-controls are (from left to right) 1-VOLUME, 2-TUNING & 3rd-ON/OFF. The tube line up is One-6A8, One-6B7, One-42, One-6D6 & One-80. The chassis had has all New Electrolytic Capacitors replaced & paper/wax capacitors were replaced as needed & a nice electric cord was installed. This radio has been restored to good working condition. When this Nice looking CORONADO radio is powered up. PLEASE FINISHING READING THE REST OF THE DESCRIPTION. This “CORONADO” would make an Excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it’s power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter. Sized of this Fabulous GEM is 14-1/2″ High, 11-3/4″ Long & 8 Wide/Deep. This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology “unlike modern day solid state radios” can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV’S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires above your home, etc… So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are “Directional” meaning you ” MAY ” have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. Tube radio usually take 30 to 45 seconds after they have been turned/powered ON before they will start playing as the tubes have to warm up. I package very well for a safe arrival. Power comes on but the radio does not receive. Radio may require a replacement antennae as there is a frayed wire protruding through the back cover. There are some minor scratches on the wooden cabinet. Some wear is apparent on the front speaker cover. Back cover and bottom show wear commensurate with age. Power cord appears to have been replaced. Overall this radio looks good for its age. Cosmetically it’s in nice condition. Radio features a folding metal handle on top and volume and station selector controls on the front. With some TLC, this radio could become a real collector’s item.
