Radio powers up but just has buzzing. Was not able to tune a station. Cosmetic condition is worn but mostly intact. Most of the wood veneer intact. Has all knobs and buttons. Viewing window for dial is there as well! Inside chassis is nice and clean. Inside of cabinet also has all original stickers intact as well! Nice candidate for restoration! Overall size is 12 3/8 wide, 6 5/8″ deep, and 8 3/8″ tall.

It plays well with excellent tone range, no hum, and dial lights, tuner and station preset push-buttons working as intended. A length of wire is included that extends the antenna lead. In the electronic restoration, all components were checked with any weak or defective ones replaced, which included 2 tubes, all paper and filter capacitors, 1 resistor, volume control switch, power cord, speaker and output transformer. Tuning circuits were aligned. Veneer was repaired as required. The favorite station push-buttons are set from the back with a small screwdriver; the far-right push-button engages manual tuning using the knob on the right. The wood finish displays nicely, as the pictures show. The set has original knobs, push-buttons, dial and the original grill cloth and the dimensions: 12 1/2″ wide x 8 1/2″ high x 6 1/2 deep. This model didn’t come with a back cover. Every vintage tube radio I sell has been thoroughly serviced – tubes tested, components checked and then the unit is lubricated and cleaned inside and out. Just finished for a new home is a gorgeous 1939 PHILCO tube radio model 39-7. The radio is a nice display size being only 12.25″ long x 8.25″ tall x 6.5 deep. The cabinet is simply eye catching featuring the maple veneer with walnut wrap around bands. The wood grain and colors throughout the cabinet are superb. There are 6 functional push buttons which can be individually set for you favorite stations by adjusting the trimmers in the rear of the radio. The knobs, station call letter bracket, and bezel have been polished and resealed. Also new call letters in the bracket. There is a new grill cloth, new AC power cord, new dial lamp, and new filter and audio capacitors. The tubes tested and are strong performers. The remaining components checked, cleaned, and adjusted/replaced if needed. The glass dial cover and speaker are in excellent condition. The radio plays very well with no issues. You will need to attach a few feet of wire to the antenna pigtail at the rear of the radio for proper reception and performance. Performance will vary depending on your location and signal strength. For you today is my beautiful Philco model 39-7. Built in 1939 and was one of their very popular models sporting the 6 push buttons, horizontally placed dial face and bezel, and multi grained cabinets. The dial face on this radio and the glass cover are in excellent condition and the pointer moves freely around the dial with movement of the knob. The call sign bracket, knobs, push buttons, and the dial bezel have been polished and resealed. There is a new grill cloth, new dial lamp, and new AC power cord. The filter and audio capacitors have been replaced with new ones and the tubes, resistors, and remaining components tested and replaced if needed. The new owner will need to attach a few feet of wire to the antenna pigtail in the rear of the radio for it to receive and function as it should.
