Known for its quality and craftsmanship, Philco radios are highly sought after by collectors of vintage radios. This particular model offers a touch of nostalgia and historical significance, making it a valuable addition to any collection of vintage electronics. All capacitors have been replaced. The capacitors which were originally inside the Bakelite enclosures were removed and the enclosures re-stuffed with new capacitors. The “metal can” electrolytic capacitors were bypassed with new ones on the underside of the chassis. The radio receives and plays well using a long wire antenna attached to the “Ant” terminal, as these old radios did not come with a built-in antenna. The cabinet has been refinished using dark walnut stain and a topcoat of clear polyurethane. The grille fabric has been replaced also. The speaker had a tear in the paper cone which has been repaired. (glued) The speaker sounds good. The cord has been replaced at some point and is in good condition. I picked this radio up as a project to repair and refinish. I’ve enjoyed repairing and refinishing it and now it’s time for someone else’s enjoyment. (approximately 90 years old).

This tube radio features a classic Bakelite design and has been tested and confirmed to be in working condition. With the brand being Philco, known for its quality radios during that time period, this piece would make a valuable addition to any collector’s inventory of vintage radios. Knobs seem to work fine.

This is a Philco Jr Model 81 cathedral radio from 1933. The tuning works even though the dial scale itself is cracked and damaged. The cabinet is rough. There is finish loss, scratching and wear throughout the exterior. Some wiring has been updated and you can see electrical tape on parts of the chassis. Replacement tubes have been installed. This would make a good candidate for someone who wants a working chassis to pair with a better cabinet, or who wants to take on a full restoration. All three original knobs are there and the chassis appears otherwise complete.

A fairly common radio rarely found in this condition. Radios this nice and original are a rare find. The original finish is beautiful right down to the perfect decal. The grille / bezel is made of Tenite. A material that is almost always showing warpage. This one is perfect! . This grille is excellent and the best example I’ve seen. The cardboard back looks like new. The chassis is clean and retains all original Philco features. There is a hairline crack in the plastic lens cover, virtually unnoticeable. This radio has been serviced and plays great. No hum and great volume. 13″W x 7-1/2″H x 6-1/2D. This pre-war table model features a right front dial panel with the famous “red pointer” dial indicator and plastic grille with horizontal louvers. Uses six tubes, has three knobs, carrying handle and feet. It receives broadcast and shortwave. Tenite grille in excellent condition. 13-1/2″W x 9″H x 7D. The product is a vintage 1941 Philico 41-220 table radio with a wooden case, fully restored and in working condition. The radio face measures 12 inches in width and 7 inches in height. I can’t find anything on the police frequency. I don’t think anyone uses the lower frequency.
