The radio powers on, takes about 15 seconds to warm the tubes up (see video). It gets close to getting a station but for the most part reception is not clear and does not come in. Might be fixed with an antennae? The good: the front panel is in good shape. No broken slats and the dials both work smoothly. The bad: the cabinet is/was cracked. It appears it has been glued together in the past but the top portion is still cracked while most of the remaining crack down the back is still glued together for the most part. One screw is missing on the back lower left panel. The top two screws don’t screw in because the plastic molding where the screws would normally thread into are broken these can be seen on the inside in the video and some of the pictures. Also as stated previously, pretty much no reception except for faint reception between static. In review, this vintage Roland radio still holds decent eye appeal from the front, even with the cabinet crack that runs from the top down the back/right side. It appears to have all original parts, even the tubes (possibly, I’m not too internally tech savvy with radios). This is the radio that will tie your mid century room together! An old, hard to find Stromberg Carlson C-3 1950′s tube alarm clock table radio that works, and we have two! Our other one is coral colored! Overall great physical shape! The clock works when plugged in. We did not have much control over the volume. There are no cracks, chips, or breaks observed during inspection and photography. The cord and plug appear to be original. The top of the faceplate will need some attention-adhering, as it likes to lean forward. The bottom decal that shows the schematics has been removed. View detailed photos for additional details.
