Working refurbished RCA model 9-X-561 radio from around 1949. Unit was disassembled, cleaned and electronic components checked and replaced as needed. Unit was reassembled with a new AC power cord. Unit was tested for a few hours in radio and phono play modes. Has PLENTY of volume and sounds great. Radio Dial lights up with working bulbs at each end. Cracks repaired (glued) at lower right & left front corners of case – SEE PICS. Not an absolute museum piece but a very respectable working example of one of the most popular and recognizable RCA radios of the period. No gypo games played here. This radio features “Loudness” (+power) and “Bass/Treble” knobs, both in fully functioning condition. The tuning and band dial works, however the tuning marker does not move along with the channel changing. This radio powers on just fine and I was able to find a couple different stations. In addition to the tuning marker, this radio may be in need of more maintenance. I have not found any further mechanical damage though. The 54 two-pronged power cord is in great shape. This is a model C845M with unit number printed on the bottom reading “666″. It measures 15.5″x9.5″x7.75. Please see all photos for condition.
