I was so excited to come across this. First one, out of all my years of antiquing and going to estate auctions that I’ve ever come across. It looks to be in all original, used, vintage/antique condition showing use, wear, surface wear, discolorations, scratches, color wear, age related wear etc. Hopefully the photos will speak for the description and condition. Radio Corporation of America. In small fine print on the corner of the label 46015-1. I was told it is a hotel/motel radio. I’m not sure if this one was attached to a motel/hotel wall or more permanent surface and maybe the back taken off? And there’s no way for me to test. But I would assume it needs restoration or some kind of repairs. The outer case is some type of metal or mixed metal material. I love the character and history of it. It still has what looks to be the original piece on top that says 25 cents for 2 full hours and the original coin slot. Please refer to photos of this. Pictures taken of all sides/angles, including top, bottom, close-ups etc. It measures approximately 16 1/2 inches across. Approximately 9 1/2 inches tall. Front to back, approximately 10 inches excluding the knobs that come out more on the front. The scale shows it weighing 16 pounds. Again, thanks for your interest and looking. Condition: A beautiful post war radio by Airline. The clean chassis was removed and sent to our technician for upgraded caps and replacement of out of spec resistors. The tubes tested 80% or better. No dial light for this model. The original speaker looks great and sounds great. This radio easily tunes in our local stations. The modern plastic case and knobs received a coat of gloss Red enamel which offsets the blemish free beautiful Gold dial. The original back cover is in excellent condition for it’s age. Overall, this radio was well taken care of and a great looking post war radio that would look great as an Art Deco piece in your home or added to any collection. This one won’t disappoint. 1950′s Model H500. Description: Broadcast Receiver, Shortwave, 5 Tube Chassis, 110/220V, 20/90 Battery Volts, Built-In Antenna, Shortwave Antenna, Pushbuttons. Condition: This is a nice collectable Trans Oceanic. It does show wear from use and age. The cover door out of alignment. The dial face has a small rounded broken piece upper left corner of dial face(see photo). Does not detract from the radio’s cosmetics. The clean chassis had the caps and tubes replaced by the prior owner. The tone controls work. Includes the original Operating Guide. Overall, this is a very nice Trans Oceanic radio. I was unable to get any history on it. And, it’s not my area of expertise. The plug is not a plug for a standard U. I was able to get an adapter to be able to test. I cannot get any sound or noise. I did notice the light behind the dial come on after it warmed up. But it is not working and I do not know what it needs. One of the reasons that I can’t get any sound or noise might be because I cannot get the dial to turn. The only other comparable one I found was in a radio museum. I do think it’s a rare radio and would be worth someone taking the time to repair that has the knowledge or talent. From what little information I was able to get, this vintage/antique radio was made in Denmark. (someone has it under a category of’Broadcast Receiver- or past WW2 Tuner’) radio in a wood case. I do not know… So please look at all the photos and please be your own judge about everything. It does show use and wear. I was told it’s from 1948. Again, I do not know. Maybe someone else will be more knowledgeable. Pictures taken of all sides/angles that will hopefully speak for the condition and description. Most of the wood looks to be intact. There are a few places of surface wear and another place on the front side, toward the bottom, that should be visible in some of the photos. It looks like maybe it went up against something and caused a crack or place in the wood. It could probably be touched up or repaired if someone wanted. Used, vintage condition, surface wear, etc… It measures approximately 21 1/2 inches across. Approximately 12 1/2 inches tall. And front to back, approximately 10 inches, minus the knobs that come out a little more on the front. It has the knobs at the bottom that adjust the dial and I assume the volume. Then there are push buttons below the dial. The scale shows it weighing about 21 pounds. Thanks for your interest and looking. The most quintessential philco style radio ever made! And this one has the dark veneer I believe it’s walnut all the original knobs and I believe the grill cloth in front of the speaker is original also. In a physical condition you would have a hard time finding one in better condition one chip on one side to veneer. The gut are all there it wants to work turns on light works and it make lots of statistic sound sure it need to be gone through completely and cleaned up. It will work again need some love. It’s the looks I think are really cool and what what people think of when they think about old radios. Measures 16″ x 12″ x 9.
