This item is a vintage RCA “New Yorker” Model 5Q55 walnut bakelite tube table radio from approximately 1938. Design: It features a molded cabinet designed by John Vassos. It does turn on but does radio does not connect. (With the cords being exposed it was probably a poor choice to plug it in to test it, but I did it anyway). It is highly recommended to replace the electrical wiring before plugging it in again, it could be dangerous. This radio will require some work, wiring and such to get it working again. The body is in excellent condition though. It is a beautiful piece! There are some white paint speckles on the top, I was able to remove a few of them with a damp rag very carefully, but there are still a few dots there. I just got tired and didn’t do the rest, sorry! Dimensions: Approximately 13.5″ wide, 9.3″ tall and 8.7 deep, and weighs 15 pounds & 1 oz. Please see photos for more details and thanks for looking!

Vintage Grunow table radio. Very Art Deco shape with chrome grill. 12″l x 6″w x 7.25h. Left knob is on/off volume. Right knob is tuning. Dated 1934 on bottom (I don’t know if that’s correct or not). Also says it was rebuilt in 2007. I don’t know if that includes cabinet refinishing? Cabinet is in great shape nonetheless. Fabric in grill is also in fantastic shape, so that may also be a replacement. I don’t know. It has a long electric cord and also an antenna cord (I think that’s what it is).

Antique circa 1939 table radio in perfect working condition. Minor scuff pictured, otherwise in excellent shape.

This Zenith model Y723 table radio plays and is in good shape. Decent bakelite cabinet with some scuffs here and there but overall good for a 70 year old radio. There is a small chunk of bakelite missing at the bottom of the lower left grill but it’s not immediately noticeable. Tuning dial spans the entire scale with no slippage. Original power cord was replaced for safety. Also picks up plenty of our local FM stations loud and clear just using the built-in FM antenna. See a video of this radio playing at the link below. Radio weighs 7 lbs. And measures 13 in. Wide x 7 1/2 in. Deep x 12 in.

Great vintage radio in pretty good condition for its age. All knobs and dials work, everything lights up, comes with original cord and antenna and speakers work.

I do a lot of business with them and they always have well cared for gear. Not saying it won’t need adjustments but, it looks like a nice clean unit. It has some chips in the finish and dial decal is a reproduction. All wax capacitors have been replaced along with the electrolytic filter capacitors. Radio works and plays nicely. Not sure what upgrades have been done if any. Radio dial stops at 14.50. Volume control is a bit touchy. A few flaws that I pointed out in the photos.
