In 1947 was the only portable radio with the selenium rectifier. The radio I got a station but has a loud static with it. When tuning the loud static quiet down some. The preset stations it has maybe it wont tune them in good where Im at or perhaps the cord since its is brittle. Probably still needs works because of the static. The radio is appx 8″X4 1/2″. ANTIQUE VINTAGE ATWATER KENT DOMED CATHEDRAL RADIO, MODEL 80, SUPER-HETERODYNE – UNRESTORED – WOOD CASE This antique / vintage ATWATER KENT radio is a Model 80, Super-Heterodyne, 110 Volts, 60 Cycles, 70 Watts. It is a solid radio, encased in a domed wooden cathedral-style case. The case has decorative pilaster columns, rounded arch, and modified tracery-style window openings over the speaker, for sound. These openings are backed with fabric speaker cloth, and are in good condition. This radio is all original, with dials, brass hardware, dial indicator, tubes, etc. And a solid chassis. It appears to be complete. There are some nicks and scratches to the matched veneers of the case. It has not been powered up or tested, so it will need servicing to work properly.
