Vintage HEATHKIT SB-102 tube TRANSCEIVER ham radio BASE STATION.

This transceiver looks pretty good. The biggest cosmetic issue is that the previous owner painted the cabinet with a shade of green that differs from the original “Heathkit green”, and there are some flakes in the paint as Heathkit didn’t use a primer. Inside, it looks all original. You’ll notice the rubber bands are broken, but that’s extremely common. This equipment is part of a very large silent-ley estate we recently acquired, all of which has been in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We have not done any testing beyond what is specifically mentioned above. There are a few reasons for this, but it essentially comes down to the fact that they almost always need some level of service and it’s simply not cost effective to pay our technician to spend time going through them. It may or may not need components replaced (caps, resistors, tubes, etc), controls cleaned/lubricated, alignment, and so on. Unless you are qualified and capable of working on this unit yourself, or are willing to pay a qualified individual to do the work for you, we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
