This RCA Radiola is in nice cosmetic condition for it’s age. The wooden case has some scuffs, scratches and nicks, but overall I’d say it’s been well cared for over the past 100 years. It currently has all tubes installed. The dials move smoothly, except the “STATION SELECTOR I” control. The knob turns, but the dial doesn’t move. We’ve made no attempt to test the radio. This model was RCA’s first radio designed to operate on AC (alternating current) power, which was a significant advancement in convenience for consumers. The radio is a six-tube tuned radio frequency (TRF) receiver with a wood case. It has a simplified operation with only two controls: a volume control and a single tuning knob. Volume dial needs replacement.

Surviving the decades in fabulous fashion is this brown swirled Bakelite Radiola 510-B. It’s not really all that rare, it’s just that you don’t see them that often in this condition! From all angles it’s a keeper! This Radio is from my private collection of 1940′s period radios. Please carefully review the photos they are an important part of the description. Radiola 510-B from 1940 Smooth Shinny Bakelite Cabinet that is damage free. No Cracks, damages or blemishes, its just perfect. It appears to have been restored / serviced electronically, its a strong receiver and has a relatively new power cord. Somebody went through this radio carefully. Here is a RCA Radiola Special from 1923 made by Wireless Specialty Apparatus Co. The radio is in a fitted case, I think this must be custom made for it a long time ago for portability. It has a built in antenna in the lid and storage compartments for batteries and headphones. The external battery posts are wired up and I powered her up that way, the wires can easily be routed to the battery compartment. We have another at 1420 but I could not get that one, the radio may not tune that high? The variometer turns freely and a new grid leak resister is installed. The only thing I have done to this radio is wire up the battery posts. Please check the pictures they will show it off well. The case measures 16″ x 10 1/2″ x 7 1/2.
