PLEASE NOTE : Due to the vintage nature of this item (and the fact that the capacitors are original) I must sell this as “For Parts or Not Working “. Up for sale is. Intage Heathkit FM receiver tube radio model. W/ matching tube powered remote speaker. The examples for sale in this listing are in great physical/cosmetic condition for it’s age with no significant/irreversible signs of wear, no damage & clean, intact grill cloth. However, it is also an ideal candidate for a cosmetic refurbish (sanding & staining/oiling of the wood cases) in order to make it an ideal example. I had a local tech refurbish both units by cleaning the control pots/contacts, testing all the tubes & re-aligning the FM tuner. Everything works as it should now. PLEASE NOTE that the capacitors are all original so they probably will have to be replaced down the line as a low level hum will probably develop down the line, which is expected with vintage gear this old. Both the receiver/radio & the remote speaker measure 15 & 1/4″ wide by 8 & 1/2″ high by 6 & 3/4 deep. The receiver/radio weighs 13 & 1/2 pounds while the remote speaker measures 12 & 1/2 pounds. They are the international buyers responsibility as they are imposed on you by your country. Buyers MUST speak fluent English as I have had to deal with to many problems that stemmed from dealing with those who did not have a firm grasp on the language. All sales are final. After doing a little research it looks like this radio was only made one year. This radio is in beautiful condition for its age. There are no cracks or chips in the Bakelite. It will be stunning polished up. I have no way to power it up and it’s going to need someone much smarter than me to get it going. I can tell you that when you move the tuning knob the indicator will move slightly both ways but it is going to need some work. However, everything is there as far as I can tell. Vintage Trav-ler T-29827 Portable Battery-Powered Tube Radio – Built in Antenna. It is in vintage well used condition. It will require some tubes & batteries and possibly some type of repairs to get this radio into working order. The exterior if the case has dried out and the leather handle is gone, the covering will also need to be reconditioned or something. All the latches and hinges work as designed. It is a Zenith model 4R, which unusual in that the company’s name is still listed as Chicago Radio Laboratories on the front panel. That name went back to the earliest days of Zenith when their founders were making sets in somebody’s basement or garage. In later years, Zenith dropped the name Chicago Radio Laboratories and was just Zenith Radio. In examining it, I can find a defect as pictured on the front panel, which is a slight crack. This should be a centerpiece of an early radio collection due to its interesting history and its fine appearance and construction.
