This is an all original Zenith 7H918 radio that works absolutely PERFECT, hard to find an original this nice and not restored from 1949.

The exterior case is a two-tone color that makes use of the wood grain, with a similar color oil stain and varnish applied. The dust cover on the dial part has been painted on the back, so the dial pointer / dial / pilot light cannot be seen well, and the back cover is missing. There are some signs of use due to the passage of time, but scratches and scuffs have been masked and repainted, the speaker cloth (cloth) has been renewed and replaced, and the three dials and knobs that were originally there are still there, so it is in good condition. The vacuum tubes used are “UZ-57 / UY-27 / UX-12A / KX-12F”, which are now vintage ST tubes, total of four, and the speaker’s voltage coil was broken, so I replaced it with an equivalent one I had on hand. The dial operation is “power switch / for main variable capacitor / for playback variable capacitor” from the left. Other major restoration work included: replacing the power cord, pilot lamp cord, and speaker cord for safety reasons; the electrolytic capacitor was not acceptable, so removed it and installed relay lugs in the empty space and replaced it with new “22? F 250V x 2, 33? F 50V x 2″ to restore it to its original condition; the resistor in the cathode circuit of the output tube was broken, so I used a 1K? Resistor I had on hand to restore it to its original condition; one of the lead wires inside the mica capacitor attached to the first grid of the high frequency amplifier tube was broken, so I replaced this; there was a play that could not be repaired in the restored variable capacitor, so I replaced it with one I had on hand to restore it to its original condition; the variable capacitor shaft was a little loose, so I tightened the adjustment bolt to restore it to its original condition; oil maintenance was performed on each rotating part of the variable capacitor, etc. 2-3 solder joints had come loose, so this was repaired; there was an “input terminal for the PU” on the back of the chassis, so although it is shared with the radio circuit, an external input cord was installed; the coating of each wiring was in poor condition, so It has been restored to its original condition by inserting new insulating coating material, etc. And is now fully functional. The inside of the chassis has also been cleaned, and the output sensitivity of the “external input PU function” is also good. Surviving the decades in fabulous fashion is this brown swirled Bakelite Radiola 510-B. It’s not really all that rare, it’s just that you don’t see them that often in this condition! From all angles it’s a keeper! This Radio is from my private collection of 1940′s period radios. Please carefully review the photos they are an important part of the description. Vintage, Art Deco Philco Model 37-62, that is a great candidate for restoration. Radio is only able get some static and the volume is low, so it will need to have the capacitors replaced to get it functioning. All of the tubes tested good on my Eico Model 625 tube tester. Chassis is very clean with no evidence of rust or corrosion. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. A close inspection of the plastic dial indicator reveals that it was broken at one point and repaired with tape/glue. In addition, the light that illuminates the dial indicator is missing. The power cord is in good condition, a little stiff and the grill cloth is in good shape, with no rips or holes. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. There is some wear to the faux finish on the front face, and a veneer chip along the back edge of the left side of the radio, but overall, the radio still presents well. With a little bit of restoration work, this radio will be a fine addition to your collection. Restored models without the original faux finish have commanded big prices. Vintage Philco Model 37-89 Cathedral radio that is a good candidate for restoration. I was not able to receive anything on the shortwave band, but that is not unusual for this area, as the signal is not strong. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax, but it is showing wear on the front and there is a veneer chip on the left front edge that has been patched with wood putty. The power cord is in good condition. The grill cloth is in good condition, with a small tear on the right side. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly, but the bottom center knob is not original. The dial indicator functions properly as well, but the plastic dial indicator is broken and has been taped together. The chassis does have some surface rust, but nothing out of the ordinary. This 1947 BENDIX 526A radio has a full and Bakelite case, front, back and all around. The radio is 10 1/2″ long, 6 1/2″ deep and 6 1/2 high – original knobs, orig label on the base – a very nice example. The radio has a crack in the plastic type dial, still there and usable but it has a crack. The radio has a good cord and hums loudly when plugged in – probably a tube but should be serviced. A handsome set with totally rounded ends and curved in every direction.

Vintage Zenith Model 6-S-27 Tombstone Radio that is a great candidate for restoration. Radio has been recapped and a new electrical cord has been installed as well. Unfortunately, the unit is still not working – I was only able to get some static noises when I placed a wire to the antenna screw on the rear. The tuning dial is not functioning as well, as it needs a new belt. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. The veneer on the top is warped and split and will need to be reglued or replaced – or you can leave as is if this is going to be a shelf piece. There is also evidence of some glue along the edge of the top panel. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly. The grill cloth is very good condition, with no tears or holes, but there is some minor staining. Great looking, classic Zenith radio that will be a fine addition to your collection. Unfortunately, the radio is not functioning – only humming, so it will probably need to be recapped. All of the tubes tested good on my Eico Model 625 tube tester. The grill cloth is in great condition, with no rips, or holes and minor stains. Two of the feet are missing there rubber bodies and all that remains is the metal pin.
