This just in from collectors estate. Plugged in and it works. The tag says it was serviced in 2017 and got some caps. It tunes, gets stations and sounds great. The only flaw I found, was when turned all the way down, there is still a slight sound of station playing. The cabinet has no cracks, very nice. Might want to polish or deep clean the cabinet, I did not want to touch it. This would make a great movie prop or displayed in a pink kitchen. Final sale, as found, thank you. VINTAGE VICTOR FILM SPEAKER IN CABINET. 16MM Victor Animatograph Corporation. 18 inches across, 16.5 inches high, 57 inches around. Very clean, Leather is in nice shape and smells amazing. Comes with line out cable and wood reel. Does not have front face plate, but that would hide the awesome Art Deco look. Electronics and connections appear good, though I do not have a way to test. From an estate of a fella who bought radios for their cosmetics…. He did not care if they worked. This is a show piece looks wise…. Works, powers on, lights up. This unit works with the following description, as described previously it Powers up lights up no missing tubes or features internally no disconnected wires but only makes a variable humming noise between stations and a little garbled as you can tell when you come across a station that can’t bring it in completely, this unit needs someone that can go through it and make it right. Dial indicator cable is hooked up works volume and tone control works and radio can file through stations yet they sound garbled. I did find one working station. The small red light does work. This is for the person who wants a cosmetically beauty that looks like a blast from the past, I would rate it cosmetically at a 9.5. Would be a great movie prop. If repaired would be a great item for a collection or living room. You just do not find these without cracks and dings and dents at this age. Please see all pictures and use zoom feature. Beautiful original Western Electric carbon button microphone salvaged from the projection booth of the famous Michigan Theatre in downtown Detroit. It stands 7.5” tall and the ring has an outside diameter of 5.75′. The microphone would have been used in conjunction with the 1920s Western Electric Vitaphone sound system to make announcements in the auditorium. The mic was found packed away on the very top of a shelf in the projection booth in a small box and wrapped in a piece of cloth. Although well protected the extreme temperature fluctuations had caused the black wrinkle finish to fall away from the metal, so I carefully cleaned and repainted the frame using the same type of paint. I also cleaned the mic element which still shows some oxidation on some areas of the nickel plated steel. Very cool memento from what may be the most beautiful and surreal derelict movie theater in the country.
