This transmitter is in fair cosmetic condition. There aren’t many scratches, but it’s been repainted. Even the faceplate has been victim to some poor attempt to paint it. Inside, it’s clearly been modified as there are several newer capacitors and a relay installed. I have no idea what the guy was trying to do. This’ll make a great project or parts unit! This equipment came from the estate of a ham operator and has been tucked away in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We’ve made the decision to sell this older equipment 100% as-is and untested. This Ranger looks to be in fair cosmetic condition. The facepate is original and looks good. The cabinet has plenty of scuffs/scratches but still has the original paint. All controls feel good and turn smoothly. If you look at the photos, you’ll see that it’s missing the smaller screws which join chassis and cabinet. It still has the three larger screws that go across the entire transmitter. Inside, we can see that it’s been modified, but we really don’t have any idea as to what the modifier was trying to do. There are some modern capacitors under the chassis. With the exception of equipment that’s known to be operational, we’ve made the decision to sell these old “boat anchors” 100% as-is and untested.
