This is a vintage commercial/land mobile radio, model EU-EG48ST8 (FCC Type ESB31A), manufactured by GE in Lynchburg, VA, USA (circa late 1960s-early 1970s). Operates in the 450-470 MHz UHF band at approximately 10W output. Designed for vehicle mounting (trunk or dash) with tube/hybrid circuitry (see internal photos showing tubes, capacitors, transformers, and wiring). No power cord, control head, microphone, speaker, antenna cable, mounting hardware, or crystals/channel elements included (not shown in photos; requires 12V DC vehicle power-observe polarity on NEG/POS/GND terminals). In generally great cosmetic condition for age, with typical wear including scuffs, scratches, dust, and minor surface oxidation on the metal case and heatsinks. Packaging, paperwork, or original accessories not included unless shown. Recapping, tube checks, sourcing accessories, determining exact frequency/crystals, and ensuring proper FCC-compliant use. This is a pretty scarce transmitter! It’s in relatively good cosmetic condition. The paint appears to be original and in good shape with only some minor wear around the corners. The faceplate looks great, and all controls turn smoothly. From what we can tell, it’s all original inside with no obvious modifications. This unit is believed to have not been used in many years, likely decades, and with this in mind we have made no attempt to power-on this unit or test in any way. The tag says two way radio. 1010A – transmission type CC1008 serial number G4082 power source primary 12 V DC that’s why we think it’s for a car – possibly police or fire? May not be complete. Apparently – something on this radio locks – another reason we think it is from a police car or fire truck.
