A hard-to-come-by ivory colored Plaskon 1941 Remler 5100″Scottie” model tube radio. The case has 2x hairline cracks about a couple of inches long where the handle is, common with these models. It turns on and lights up but no stations can be tuned into. These were made in San Francisco, and the dial shows California-specific stations of the era. Measures 11″w x 8″d x 6h. Nice All original example!

1947 Sparton 5-AI-16 Vintage Radio / Ivory Working in very good condition. There are a couple of cracks, however, one near the right knob and one on the underside that has been repaired very effectively (see photos).

1951 Jewel 956 ivory plaskon radio it has cool looking style dial. Original ivory volume ad tuning dial knob. No damage, chip, or crack on the cabinet. This radio has been fully tested and all components has been checked and replaced where bad or weak. New NOS tubes and recap. This radio is sure to be an eye catcher in any setting. Don’t let it slip away to that other guy…

They were schematically and cosmetically the same except for the colors. The radio was produced for the 1949/1951 market. This example is a beautiful ivory colored plastic radio with attached electric alarm clock. Please note, there are some examples of this radio for sale around the internet characterizing the case as’plaskon’. It is not; it is high gloss plastic. We have gone through this radio thoroughly to restore its operations to the specifications originally designed and as set out in the Sam’s Photofact schematic for the specific model. New components were installed throughout the chassis to replace the old paper and wax parts and other electrical components were replaced where required for proper and safe operation. There is a newer polarized power cord. The clock was cleaned on the outside, the motor removed, drained of its old lubricant, internally cleaned and filled with new synthetic oil specifically made for clocks. The movement was also cleaned and all pivot points lubricated. As a result, the clock runs accurately and noiselessly. The top clock knob shows some surface wear and both knobs were previously glued on and we did not attempt to remove them as they work correctly. The radio is turned on and off using the lower clock knob. The case has no structural damage (cracks or chips) and is in fine condition. The 511 came in a lovely high gloss ivory finish as shown in the photos and while there are a few elements of wear light scratches, a couple of small marks, etc. , it presents itself much better than its 75 year age would suggest. We have lightly polished the case and given it a coat of protective carnauba wax so it is ready to use out of the box. The attached video provides illustration of its clear reception. There is little to no background hum. 5 1/2 inches deep. 5 1/2 inches high.
