A very old Grunow tube radio model 470 superheterodyne receiver. Tombstone art deco style wood case. Some scratches and small tears to the front but nothing sever. Top has some damage but over all the piece is very nice, mainly some wear and edge wear from age. The back inside is dusty. The radio hums and the front inside and top bigger bulb do show some light while the other two lights do not. A heavy piece weighing in at 14 lbs. And measures 14″ high X 11.75″ wide X 7.25 deep. Hard to find, vintage Grunow Model 750 “The World Cruiser” Tombstone radio that is a perfect candidate for restoration. Radio powers up, but I immediately saw smoke coming from the chassis, so the radio was shut down. It will obviously need electronic restoration. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. There are a few pieces of veneer missing along the back edge of the left side of the radio that does not detract from the overall appearance. The radio is missing one knob and the larger knob is chipped and not original to the radio. The hard to find arrow knob is present. The grill cloth is in excellent condition, with no rips or holes. The original cloth power cord is in good condition, with no fraying to the exterior cloth covering. The dial indicator does not function properly – moves slowly or gets stuck, so it will need to be restrung. Great radio to add to your collection.
