Problem with the knobs, one is not sticking out the other 2 are missing. Some wear in the repwood pattern design on the sides and top, see photos. On the top are some kinda deep scratches. The front looks good and the cloth is good. Some rust or discolorations on the chassis. Not sure of its condition.

The Kadette H is known as the Gothic, for obvious reasons. Made in 1931, it is one of the most unique-looking and sought after of vintage radios. Kadette was a brand name used by International Radio Corporation and was responsible for some of the earliest radios made using the forerunners of modern plastics. Some of the brand, or trade, names of these materials were Bakelite, Catalin, Plaskon and Beetle. The Gothic was made in both Plaskon and Beetle. Plaskon was most often found in creamy white or a number of solid colors. Beetle was usually found in white, with marbling in brown, orange and green colors and attracts collectors. This example is Beetle and is one of the most all-original and exceptional Beetle Gothics you will find. When I say all-original, it even has the original speaker fabric which is extremely rare, as well as the original brass escutcheons behind the knobs which have the on/off, volume and tuning information embossed in them. It even has the original resistance cord which is also rare to find, but if you plan to actually use the radio I strongly suggest you put a new vintage-style cord on it and save the original, and also have a specialist check the electronics. The Beetle cabinet is stunning and has beautiful patterning in it. There are no cracks, chips or hairlines. The only exception is the solid Beetle back which is often missing entirely and, when there, almost always has a few cracks or breaks. It had a number of screws in it which tended to get over-tightened and cause these issues. This example is one of the best Beetle Gothic backs I have seen. This radio is from my personal collection and I have always identified radios I want and then searched long and hard for the best examples I can find. The new owner of this gorgeous Beetle Kadette Gothic will reap the benefits. If there are problems I will work with buyers to resolve them. 1930 Echophone S-5 Radio. It’s an 8 tube radio. All tubes light up and have life in them. However, the radio signal does not work. The speaker comes on and has a loud hum, I’ve put an RCA cable up to the jack and heard my iPhone through the speaker. So, the speaker is good. I replaced the light for the dial, its new. If I had to guess I’d try to get an antenna and replace some parts under the chassis- after this you should have a working radio. The wood Console & grill has been professionally restored. I had plans to restore this but I’m too busy, it’s halfway done so will make a good project.
