Vintage Telefunken Gavotte 5353W Tubes Radio 1960s Germany For Repair. Powers on and hums. Some damage to power cord. Cabinet has some cracks.

It does work, but has a loud buzzing sound when it first powers up until it warms up a bit then gets softer as the audio starts to play. It is able to tune stations and overall is in very good shape. The buttons switch between bands with no issues and the bass and treble adjustments work as well. There is some cosmetic blemishes but no major issues that I see. You get the exact item in the pictures. Overall size is 18.5″ x 13″ x 8.

This is a beautiful vintage Telefunken GAVOTTE 8U German tabletop radio licensed by Armstrong. It is clean, powers on and has been tested with the internal antennas. I received a strong local FM station, but others are weak in my location (basement of my house). I heard static on SW and Special channels. Phono not tested or the other sound buttons. The radio is clean but has various scratches (a few deep) and mars & blemishes consistent with age. There is a hole in the cabinet on one side. The power cord at the connector is frayed and has been taped but should be replaced before use. See photos and description below for more information. Inquire with any questions or for more photos. Nice German radio pulled out of a local estate from Charleston WV. I plugged it in and tested it. Seems to work and gets reception though could use an antennea. Featured for your consideration we have an attractive and functional vintage radio! This radio, the Telefunkeb Gavotte, is a seven tube radio from West Germany, circa late 1950′s. Condition overall is very good, minor surface wears but nothing noticable– I was actually very impressed with the asthetic appeal of this radio! The wooden chassis is the old original nitro-cellulose with transparent laque for a very shiny and appealing midcentury design. Does not appear to have been faded or damaged from sun over time. Dimensions (WHD): 475 x 335 x 195 mm / 18″ x 13.2″ x 7.7. The power cord is original and in good, working condition. The sound of the radio is very good, all of the buttons function and the backlit display lights up very well. The green plasma gauge feature on the front is very cool looking, unique, and wavers from thin to being filled out on the basis of signal strength– a unique and accurate indicator.
