This is one of TWO small Seeburg “tear drop” speakers that I will be listing tonight. Please see my other auctions for the second speaker as well as other rare jukebox items. First of all I want to mention that a small dark “spec” can be seen in a few of the photos. This is caused by a piece of dirt inside of my camera and is NOT on the speaker itself! This is a beautifully restored original Seeburg RS1-8 remote wall speaker from the 1940s. The speaker case is made of bakelite and measures 17.25” tall, 11.25” wide at the top and 6.25” deep at the top. I had this speaker professionally restored a few years ago by John Mullins in Franklin Ohio. John has been servicing and restoring Seeburg jukeboxes and accessories for many years and he has an eye for detail that very few restorers posses. He painstakingly matched the original Seeburg cream paint and it has just the right tint. The grill cloth was also carefully matched from an original un-faded sample. The Seeburg logo and two metal trim pieces were all re-plated by a quality chrome shop. The paint on the case was beautifully done and is show room automotive quality. It has a wonderful uniform gloss and simply couldn’t be improved upon. The speaker case was in very nice condition prior to restoration with no cracks or damage to the bakelite. The original 8” diameter speaker still works and sounds great and has a perfect original cone. The bakelite back panel with original decal was left untouched aside from light cleaning. I can hold until the next show as well if you can’t make it in April. Packing will be BULLET PROOF. Also, I will take vintage theater audio equipment in trade! If you have something, let me know. The speaker case is made of bakelite and measures 30.5” tall, 17.25” wide at the top and 9.25” wide at the top. I had this speaker professionally restored a few years ago by John Mullins in Franklin Ohio. John has been servicing and restoring Seeburg jukeboxes and accessories for many years and he has an eye for detail that very few restorers posses. He painstakingly matched the original Seeburg cream paint and it has just the right tint. The grill cloth was also carefully matched from an original un-faded sample. The “treble clef” grill was originally made from very thin steel that was chrome plated. John used the original grill as a pattern and had an identical copy laser cut from polished stainless steel, so you will never have to worry about the chrome pitting on this one. All of the blue glass mirrors were replaced as well. The paint on the case was beautifully done and is show room automotive quality. It has a wonderful uniform gloss and simply couldn’t be improved upon. The speaker case was in excellent shape before restoration with no chips or cracks. The 12” speaker is original to the case and still works and sounds beautiful and has a perfect original cone. This speaker features a factory original on/off/ toggle switch and volume control on the upper right side. I can hold until the next show as well if you can’t make it in April.
