This vintage Electrohome World Cruiser radio is a true gem from the 1950s. Made in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, it is a piece of history that will transport you back in time. This 1939 radio, modeled after a sail boat is truly a piece of art. It is constructed out of wood, and has polished metal sails with wire riggings. It also has polished railings and metal port hole trim. The speaker cloth is in good condition, and there are no major scratches on this rig. It is in near new condition, which is incredible considering the age of this radio. Very little wear, and no major damage or scratches. All sails, wire, and other details seem to be in place. Functions well as shown in the video. No repairs or improvements have been made by us, there are no major repairs apparent from past owners. These collectible novelty sailor themed vintage radios are unusual and sought after by radio collectors. Of the four different models in my collection, this one seems to have been the most difficult to find and exceedingly so in this condition. I have four models all different and all in excellent condition and all are restored and play very well! It has an anchor style cutout on the front of the solid wood cabinet and also on the back panel. All parts are intact on this radio, the sails, rails, dial, grill cloth, knobs, etc. Are all factory original. Nameplate is intact on the bow. Measures approximately 18″ from stern to bow at the widest point, and approximately 17″ high. Radio is electronically restored and plays well.
