The Vintage Zenith 6D030 Radio, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, is a rare and collectible piece produced circa 1946. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames. Radio is in very nice condition. There is a small blemish on the top. Radio appears to be all original knobs, and Grill cloth. I plugged the radio into a Veriak and brought the voltage up slowly, and it is in working condition. I do have a video of a playing, if interested. Also, the original cord is frayed in areas I cannot see any exposed wires. If you’re looking for a all original Eames designed tube radio in nice original condition. This one is for you.

This vintage Hoffman radio model A-309 is a true collector’s item. Designed by the iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames, this radio is an excellent addition to any vintage radio collection. This radio has been in storage for many years. (Which I don’t have). The unit does have some dust and scratches / signs of wear on the cabinet. Charles and Ray Eames are well known for groundbreaking contributions to architecture, industrial design and manufacturing, and of course, furniture. “The Eames Chair” among their most famous creations. This history, drawn from the Eames Foundation operated by their descendants, relates an interesting relationship between a World War II development effort, and the development of plywood molding. After the Eames’s were married in 1941, the moved to California where they developed furniture design work molding plywood. A line of radio enclosures was among the postwar offspring of the plywood-molding process. Charles and Ray developed techniques for mass-producing plywood enclosures in significant numbers.
